Wow.
This may be the most useless charter and greatest lie ever told
in justifying a newsgroup. Millions of users exchanging legitimate
material?

How could you possibly discourage someone trying to create a safe heaven?
Seriously, I am curious where the article was posted to which you are following up.

Where would I have found a newgroup control message?

If a newgroup control message isn't in the control or control.newgroup
pseudo-newsgroups on one's News server, where else would one look to find
a newgroup control message?

Gee, Adam, I don't know. That's why I asked. I notice that you still didn't answer my original question. You've answered my question with a question twice now. What question are you going to answer this question with?
Did you seriously expect him to blatantly state the real reason this (or any other alt.binaries group for that matter)would be used for? ;)
At least there are still people out there who know how to send control messages instead of just requesting their providers to create a newsgroup( afaik giganews does that, for members only, bonus for the price they ask? :) i just noticed rereading it he mentions 'gods"! haha it looks like this self-confident fella who decided not to bother providing you with statistics, figures and what not that would prove usefulness of his group(and i mean, who would when we have alt.binaries.cock.warbling.grundercunts groups ffs ) knows his shit ;D
But , yeah, good luck anyways.

Don't top post on Usenet or in email, and just don't use Google Groups
generally.
Any moron can send a newgroup control message. The syntax is well documented,
and it's often a matter of copying and pasting.
That charter and the gross exaggeration of justification and the group name
that doesn't offer a clue as to the intent of the proponent indicates
otherwise.
Mentioning "gods" is the most common form of a proponent kooking out.
This way, he tells himself that his group failed due to conspiracy,
and not because he's a lazy asshole who couldn't be bothered to find
the potential audience for the group or to give anyone a reason to
care to subscribe to it or request its creation.
Kooking out is a bad sign, no matter what you believe. Kooking out in
the charter itself means that your foolishness is archived forever.

What? alt.binaries.cock.warbling.grundercunts group and hundreds alike waves at you.
I bet its and other approved and created groups charters revealed pure talent , determination
,statistical genious and a faithfull 100k followers.
My main idea behind slightly sarcastic(if u didnt notice it, which judging by your reply you did) text i wrote was that the days of charters, statistics, justification are gone. For good or for worse. Doesnt matter
And only a dying breed of old timers\no- lifers still care just to show off in the name of the old
good days.

It was only in my ISP's control newsgroup and not in either of my NSP's control
newsgroups... Seem to recall that this indicates it is broken... Apparently in
a subtle way as this one looked OK to me. Way out of practice with this
configing stuff, but then ain't we all?;-)

I spotted no bad syntax in the newgroup message. It even got the tab
character in the newsgroups file line.
