In the USA, i think that he has had only one hit (that might be different in other countries though). If he has had only one hit, i think that it may be too early to create a newsgroup devoted to him. If he stays around for another few months, maybe then it would be necessary. If every group that had one hit got a newsgroup, then there would be tons of groups on usenet that would go untouched. These are just my opinions of course. Please share your opinions with me.

In fairness, Take That (his previous incarnation) were quite popular in the states, were they not? Catrina is not suggesting that the discussion be related only to his solo career, is she?
Is your suggestion that this newsgroup might be better off in the UK hierarchy? I think he is more popular worldwide than you give him credit for.

No, i just know that he has had 1 popular song in the us...i was just wondering if he was famous worldwide...the group take that was also a one hit wonder, so if he has 1 hit every 3 years, i don't think that makes a newsgroup necessary. But if he is famous worldwide and has had many hits outside of the US, then it is necessary

I don't like him, but in the UK he has been *very* succesfful. He's had two albums that have sold over a million copies each and he's sold millions of copies of singles....

That UK guy...
Actually, I have heard of him, he's just not so popular in the US. How big is he outside of the UK?
