Any followup solutions to the Control Center hijack? I cannot get into safemode, or task manager, etc. I cannot get beyond the "Control Center" screen that loads once I login. Any ideas? Is it possible to SAFELY do a "Repair Install" on a Home XP laptop with a Pro XP CD? Thanks.

I have a friend who sends me email and the attachments are always in the format of *.DAT. Can anyone shed some light on this? I Googled the issue and, from what I understand, it might be a virus issue. Thanks........
