No, it's quite a bit more, which is why your McAfee doesn't
work with it. If you check the box I don't think you'll find
Vista listed in the OSs supported.
If you had the Enterprise version 8.5 of McAfee, that'd work.

I personally think Vista is not worth the upgrade yet

I was using AVG free with Vista for a while, then it stopped working
properly
(won't startup with Windows), but you can start AVG after every boot
manually, and it runs OK for me.

Surprise? You were surprised?

> "mcafee virusscan 2007 plus" doesn't work with vista !?!

Back in the day, I purchased a copy of the McAfee Office program for
around $80US and used it with my Windows NT 3.51 installation. A month
or so later, I upgraded to Windows NT 4.0. I attempted to reinstall
McAfee Office, and got a *McAfee* dialog warning me "Whoa! You are
using NT 4.0! Stop right now." And it did.

So I contacted McAfee for an upgrade ... maybe even a $20 fee would be
alright? Nope. "Sorry, sir. You much purchase another $80 package."

Bye-bye, McAfee.

I previously had an issue with Mcfee on Vista versions OS, is because it
s***t this antivirus messes up you Registry but you can always fix it it
has a simply solution and it will run just fine on Vista but I would
need to know if an erro pops up when you star the machine.
If you like to perform a free online scan with a gud antivirus I would
suggest with TRENDMICRO they are very good
If you wish to purchased a new ANtivirus I would suggest AVG Internet
SEcurity latest version is very stable with Vista Version

Giuseppe replies way too late:

Oh, you thought anyone was still monitoring that /*34-MONTH OLD*/ thread?
Next time check the datestamps!

A leech site pretending to have forums by running a webnews-for-dummies
interface that submits improperly formatted posts through a gateway to
Usenet (aka newsgroups).

Giuseppe, you are posting in an unsavory Usenet-scraping web forum, to
the alt.comp.virus newsgroup. Google for "Usenet" and learn the real
way.
