Is there a way to take a Palm database and convert it to a format I
can work with on my desktop PC, using Access or maybe OpenOffice?

Ever since I've been working for employers who provide me with a
Blackberry, the only thing I use my Palm for anymore is EatIt, the
diet tracking program. I've tried switching to other desktop or web-
based diet tracking programs, but that means losing the years of data
I've built up using EatIt.

It seems to me that the best solution would be to create a nice
OpenOffice database where I could import the years of data that are
currently on my Palm. I could keep the database on my ftp server so I
could use it from any location using a portable version of OpenOffice
on a PDF key.

If anybody knows how to do the conversion from .pdb to something
like .csv, I would be much appreciative. Thanks!

I've pretty much retired from Palm development, but anything that can
be put into a Palm database can be extracted from it ;-)

Do a HotSync of your Palm and send me a copy of the various .pdb files
that are associated with EatIt. I may be able to point you to a tool
that can extract the data to a .csv file.
