You can use Hot sync manager to your laptop.

You can hot synch.  I use a Mac PBG3, so not sure details of lining up a
WINTEL Box, but in any case you need to install the IR Enhancements (which
are on MacPac CD, also available on Palm site).  Works very well.

Use IRSync+ with your PC and Palm V.  Don't upgrade to the Palm OS
3.3...it will fail.
Trying to get a solution for that now.  You can get IRSync from
www.palmcentral.com.

Good luck,

This is not true!
I upgraded to OS3.3 and use no extra software to hotsync with my computer
(or other Palm, for that matter...).
This is what you do:
Upgrad both hotsync on computer and on handheld
In Prefs on handheld, goto Connection and set it to "IR to a PC/Handheld"
Still in Prefs, goto Serial/IR and set serial via Infrared
In hotsync (on handheld) set sync to happen via "IR to a PC/Handheld"

Thats all. Now, you can hotsync to your laptop. Start by pressing hotsync on
handheld...:)
Works like...eeehhh...knife through hot butter.....what ever! :)

HTH

Thomas

Sorry Thomas but it looks a bit harder than that.
I gave up trying to IR sync with3.0 and didn't try again until I
installed 3.3.
Still can't get it to work-No response at all from the laptop. The V
looks like it is trying but not getting through.
I wonder if my problem could be that I am using a Toshiba Libretto
100ct with Toshiba's pre-installed version of W95 (4.00.950B)?
All the required bits seem to be installed - ie enabled IR port etc but
no joy.

Hi There,

I am a newcomer to Palm world of computing.

I believe that the info you need is contained within the readme file on the
CD supplied with the Palm V under the Hotsync section. The components needed
are available from the IBM site and once installed onto windows 95 will
enable the IR port to function. A friend has done this with a Libretto 50ct
and it works !

if you require further info I will endeavour to help

Steve

In article <zFzT3.433$Ue6.19...@juliett.dax.net>, "Thomas Almnes"

same onto the Libretto) . I have no other IR "toys" so I really dont
know if the IR port on the Libretto is the problem. However I have an
IR port equiped NEC powermate at work so I will try to Ir hotsync with
that machine and see what happens.
Thanks for the help- I"ll keep trying
