Does anyone out there know where I can access any PVCS user groups, or
similar pools of people with version control experience?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Merant advertise their user group at:
http://www.merant.com/developer/usergroups/  which would presumable cover
all their products including PVCS,

or for a manufacturer independent view of the subject, how about the British
Computer Society Config Management Specialist Group
http://www.bcs-cmsg.org.uk/

I've attended one of the local meeting (well, local to me - North of England
that is), which had some interesting stuff.

We're PVCS (Version Manager + Tracker) users at Marconi Software Solutions
(I'm currently working for our small Config Management team - we tend to
help projects get up and running with PVCS, then leave them to it, as most
of our developers have a working knowledge of it from a programmers point of
view).
Many other parts of Marconi are solid users of Rational Software products,
and I'm currently doing some evaluation work on ClearCase.
