Last word was that R3 would be available on Friday 11/20. But, I was
just offered the upgrade now. Manual backup is "repaired" as Andrew
mentioned when he received the patch early (erroneously, according to
Intuit).
When Q finds a an existing backup file, it prompts to (1) overwrite the
file, or (2) cancel. Depending on whether the user has Quicken append
the date, Q will create (and overwrite) *one* backup, or a daily backup
with date appended. It's a matter of one extra click. That may not
sound like much, but now my "one-click" backup from Q's toolbar has
become, "click, <wait>, click."
The opening Quicken sound is back.

re/"If you don't select "yes" to overwrite, it will continue
to add files to your back-up folder."
You sure about that Arnie? What other choices to you have besides selecting
"YES, OVERWRITE EXISTING". I only have 'CANCEL', so that, in fact, you do
NOT have the option of doing it either way. You either overwright the
existing, or you don't back up. No other option - ie: you do NOT have the
ability to have multiple backups on the same day.

Yes, some more effort - and THOUGHT! - still needs to go into this part of
Q2010!
There also is no way to tell it to remember this choice for the future, so
we have to tell it AGAIN each time.
No more simple <Ctrl>+B, <Ctrl>+<Enter> - then wait for the OK. :>(

Is this good or bad?
No problem at all. I think that since they started doing multiple backups
for the same day in the original 2010 releases, they should have allowed an
option to continue that if wanted. I too have always wanted the overwrite,
and, like you, I'm glad it works that way again after R3. But I can see
why some folks might wish for 'interims' (shall we say), and once offered in
the original, they should have kept it somehow as an option.
