How to remove the IR filter?

I want to remove the IR filter from an Intel CS330 webcam. Doesn't appear to have a separate filter. Looks like the purplish coating on the lens does it??? How do I remove the coating without hurting the lens? Tried sulfuric acid. Didn't touch it. Any idea what it's made of? Suggestions? thanks mike... more »

Any USB 2.0 WebCam 640x480 at 30fps?

Hello Group, I am looking for a USB 2.0 WebCam that can provide 640x480 at 30fps (without tweaking the software). I just set up my webcam with streaming video. I am using Coffee Cup. It works great, though I don"t like the delay. However, it only works with Internet Explorere. My friends that have Macs can't see it using Firefox or Safari. Does anybody know of a program that I can use that can be seen on Firefox and Safari?... more »

Hi All, I have a very old small computer which I want to use as a sort of webcam server. My problem is that it hasn't a USB port and there aren't any free ISA/PCI slots.
