Undying locks up constantly. ARRGH

I have a Geforce 1 ddr/dvi which is brand new. Clive Barker's Undying
locks up everytime i try to play it. I have the latest nvidia drivers and
DX 8. Anyone else having this prob?

You're not the only one. I recently got back Undying, wanting to finish it.
When I first played, I had a Voodoo5 and used Glide. Now I have a Geforce3
and use Direct3D. A few minutes into the game, it freezes. At first I think
it's b/c the vid card is overclocked (even though no other game has given me
problems) so I turn it back to default, but it still freezes. I have tried
the 12.41 WHQL and the 14.40 under WinME. Looking at the EA boards
(www.ea.com) it seems as though the problem lies in the games DirectX
drivers and DirectX 8. Some users suggest reinstalling DirectX 7. I haven't
tried it yet though. From what I gather in the support boards, the only true
fix will come from a game patch, though it doesn't seem like it will be out
anytime soon. Anyone else find a solution?

yeah i tried installing DX7 again but it still did it for me. I am all the
way at the end of the game too and its pissing me off because i just want to
finish it and be done with it. EA needs to get on the ball. They dont
release patches hardly ever. They need to.

Me too, I also get those freezes in Thief and Max Payne. I'm in win2k.

I had to reinstall the game, it will ask you if you want to save your saved
games and preferences. I copied my saved games before anyway. And it worked
so that I could finish. My main lockups occured in "Eternal Autumn", tried
different drivers, unclocked my machine and EVERYTHING !! but the reinstall
fixed it. Good luck
