I recently bought the Soundblaster Audigy MP3+ soundcard for my computer.
Previously I had been running an onboard SoundMax on my Intel Desktop Board
D815EEA. The new soundcard works great but I am getting the message "3COM
EuSynth ADI/ICH Hardware not present. 3COM EUSynth will not be available"
whenever I start Windows. I am running Windows 98SE.

I researched this and a few places said to uninstall some 3COM midi
software. I checked under Add/Remove Software but couldn't find anything.

Anyone know what I should do?

Thanks

Go to device manager (right-click on My Computer, Properties, Device
Manager), open the Sound, Video & Game Controllers tree, highlight any
entry related to 3Com EUSynth and click Remove.

See, now this is what I thought to do. There is nothing there relating to
the 3COM only the Soundblaster. All referances to the old soundcard are
gone.

Try booting in "Safe Mode" and look again. This will show all the devices
that are installed on your computer, not just the ones for the current
hardware profile.
