I hope someone can answer this for me.
I am using an MSI K7t266 main board, when connecting to cable internet
when starting windows 98 the computer gets to the point of logging on
to the Network and then stalls, and will not continue to load until
you press the "Enter" button
I am at a complete loss as to how to correct this
please email me  at  dal...@charter.net
Thanks Dan

sounds more like a networking issue than a mobo one unless this particular
board has built in lan.  Are you sure you are not simply confirming a
password or something?  Definitley software configuration related.  I trust
you have contacted cable with this problem?

I agree with Deathwalker.  What NIC are you using?  I worked for
Excite@Home Tech Support and it sounds to me that it is either on their
end, or a configuration issue, or something wrong with your TCP/IP stack.

Gives us more details.  There are no networks to really login when you
are on cable, generally speaking.  You turn on the computer, it bootsup
into windows, it uses your computer name to connect with their server,
in order to get your IP address, then you can use Internet Explorer or
other internet applications.

Do you have the correct computer name?  Have you tried "winipcfg"?  If
you are talking about logging in Windows, that has nothing to do with
your cable internet.  That is a user login issue.

Don't always blame the hardware.  90% of computer issues are user errors.
