Thanks,
Mathias
the board doesn't support STR. ecs is "just" doing false advertising on
their website.
actually, they recently removed the STR-ads.
but go ahead and complain about it. they won't even care. i wrote several
mails to them - no reply. assholes.
bye,

But theres one thing we didnt complaine, man, you can buy easily two of
these boards, or you can buy an ASUS with a crappy, buggy VIA Chipset.
I never saw a board in this price range (141 CHF)with these features:
- OnBoard LAN
- OnBoard AC97
- DDR, SDR (not mixed)
- SingleChip N&S Bridge
- No fan for the bridge
- Stable (I only have to reboot when I want it :)
- Nice Black PCB
- 100% VIA FREE!
I think we can forgive ECS the missing STR, most of the time it even doesnt
work cause some PCI cards are not 100% ACPI compatible.
I only want to know if I missed some settings.
Thank you
Mathias
i'd like it to be a bios problem, so it can be fixed. but in a forum i was
told, there's some circuit or something missing...

the k7s5a is a good deal, if you don't need str. i use that feature every
day and wouldn't wanna miss it. "fortunately" the k7s5a-system was not for
me. i use a msi k7t pro and i'm still happy with it. str works perfectly.

You can always use Hibernate which suspends to HDD instead. Which is not as
fun, but just as good.

not really, b/c hibernate takes at least twice that long to resume (you have
to go through all bios-routines/POST). STR is a very desireable feature.
