Description: ASUS motherboards.

New motherboard not seeing large hard drive correctly
My ASUS M3A motherboard got replaced by an ASRock N68C-GS FX yesterday. The ASUS board was toast as a result of a stupid mistake I made which I described in another thread on this newsgroup. Upon getting it home from the shop, I find that I have a major issue and the tech is not back until Monday so I thought I'd ask here to see if I can get myself out of trouble.... more »

Old ASUS motherboards
I have been a long time user of ASUS products. It is time to rid myself of my collection of older equipment. I think all are working. I have: 1) 1 P3B-F that was in service until yesterday and has refused to die. 2) 2 P4C800-E which have not had the USB ports latch up. 3) 3 P5W DH Deluxe.... more »

P2P Share files by email on Thu 04/25/2013
Do you think that Peer-to-Peer, FTP IRC technologies etc...are too much complicated !? There is a simpler technology to use, Autosend. This software allows file-sharing by only using your e-mail account. Autosend allows sharing files on your computer through regular email. It is an automatic file mailer... more »

ASUS Notebook Key questions
Since the ASUS notebook forums seem to have been closed down - at least that's the strong impression I'm getting as a result of Googling - I hope I can be forgiven for asking what seems like a few dumb questions on this forum. I have an ASUS K55N notebook which was new at Christmas (2012). It has... more »

Help! Major Memory Installation Issue
This actually refers back to a thread I started several days ago under a different ID where I asked about adding memory to the M3A motherboard. I updated that thread again a few minutes ago because of the major problem I encountered. I wanted to update it again but Google Groups is not letting me add to it. Since I don't know if Paul or any of the others in this newsgroup are still following the old thread anyway, I thought I'd cover myself by starting a new thread.... more »

Laptop Repair?
I got a new ASUS laptop for Christmas - a K55N - and its my first laptop. (I've used laptops before but this is the first one I've owned.) I am reasonably comfortable in opening the case on desktop computers and have installed memory, replaced a DVD burner, and added hard drives on desktops but I have never opened a laptop.... more »

New Case and Water Cooling Required. I think.
Back in September I invested in a new build with an Asus P9X79 and an Intel i7 Sandy Bridge. My only real problem was that I needed to install everything in a horizontal case, which meant low clearance for the processor cooling fan. With Paul's help, I settled on this little thing: [link]... more »

What kind of memory to use?
I have an ASUS M3A motherboard with 4 sockets for DDR2 RAM. The computer is running Windows XP SP3 (32 bit). Currently, two of the memory sockets (the leftmost and the third from the left) are occupied with Kingston KVR800D2N5K2/2G memory. I'd like to increase the memory on the computer and know from the manual... more »

EEE901: Auto Boot After Power Failed/Restored?
No battery, just AC. Is there any way to trick my eee901 into automagically starting up after power has failed and then restored. I don't see anything in BIOS, but if it could be set to do that, this device would have a home, otherwise, it's just sitting around... -- Pete Cresswell

Considering 4TB drive for Asus P9X79
This is a new one on me. I was just window-shopping for a larger capacity drive to replace a perfectly functional 1.5 TB drive in my system -- don't really need one, just looking -- and I found what looks like a nice 4TB Seagate drive at Newegg for $190. Also found that Amazon has the same drive for the same price. Seagate Desktop HDD.15... more »
