Hi,

I have a Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 that's having trouble booting and needs to
be replaced. Can anyone recommend a replacement board with the following
hardware?

CPU E4500
Nvidia 8600GT 512MB
2, Sata-2 drives
2 IDE DVD burners
Standard PCI MSI-vid cap card
DDR2 (would like to up to ddr3)

After the holidays, I'm hoping to upgrade the CPU to as high as possible and
buy a sound card. Need the sound card to record seminars\teachings that are
on cassettes to digital and gaming. Nothing high-end, considering ASUS Xonar
DX. Any feedback would be great!

Thanks,
Samantha

If you are looking for something inexpensive, see if you can find an ECS
G31T-M board. I think they are now discontinued, but may still be
available. They are under $50, and it's a good card .... socket 775,
Intel chipset, PCI Express video, two PCI slots, one or two other PCI
Express slots. Two DDR2 memory slots (there is no reason to go to DDR3
unless you are using a Core i5 or Core i7 CPU, which won't be socket 775).

I just bought a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L for my son. Always had gotten Asus
before but they didn't stock them. Tried the gigabyte and it's a pretty
solid mb for under $100CAN.
Socket 775, Intel P45 chipset, 6 SATA 1 IDE channel, 4 DDR slots. 1
PCI-E16x slot.
