Anyone have any experience or info regarding use of Adaptec SCSI cards on
Abit BF-6 boards?

Problem is that when SCSI card is installed, system will not boot (BIOS
never initializes) until the SCSI is removed and the power cycled twice.

Wierd

Thanks

I'm running a 2940UW with a BF6 right now with no problems. I'm not
familiar with the 2906, but I'm assuming it doesn't have a BIOS. Have you
tried another PCI slot? Is it sharing an IRQ with anything?

Oddly I had a Adaptec2910 and a HotRod using slots 2 & 5 (shared IRQ) in the
BF6 and they would work with the 2910 in PCI2 and HotRod in PCI5 but not the
other way round. It sounds like an PCI-IRQ sharing issue and SCSI cards are
often fussy about sharing.

In case you don't know on the BF6 the sharing is

AGP-PCI1
PCI2-PCI5
PCI3-PCI6
PCI4-USB
PCI6 is slave only, no bus mastering, not suitable for SCSI

Hello,
At which PCI slot did you install this card?
Or, perhaps a full list of your system configuration could help more.
