Uninstalling and installing Security software
I know you shouldn't have more than one anti-malware programs on your computer at the same time. But how do you make sure that nothing of the old software remains? I've done uninstalls and there's still a folder with that name. I could manually delete it, of course, but is that enough. And the program I want to uninstall does not have an uninstall... more »

uninstalling and installing anti-virus programs
I know you shouldn't have more than one anti-malware programs on your computer at the same time. But how do you make sure that nothing of the old software remains? I've done uninstalls and there's still a folder with that name. I could manually delete it, of course, but is that enough. And the program I want to uninstall does not have an uninstall option. Why does Windows do this?
A few weeks ago I took my laptop to church so that somebody could do a PowerPoint presentation that they had on a thumb drive. I had already used a thumb drive with it, so it already had drivers in place, but the presenter had a different brand of thumb drive, and XP insisted that it had to find a new driver. Why? Isn't a thumb drive a thumb drive?... more »
