Subject: Codec for AAP/M4A for Windows Media Player 11 on XP?
Can anybody suggest a codec that works for WMP under XP?  Vista and Windows
7 WMPs have an AAC built in, but not XP.  I know that WMP works with an AAC
codec under XP because one machine I have uses it, but I can't figure out
which codec it is or how/when it was installed.  I'm trying to find a codec
I can use for an installation across many XP computers.

Anyone?

K-Lite codec pack comes to mind. The mega version comes with a
video player that replaces the microsoft version. Much less intrusive.

Never met a video I can't play with it.

See replies to your SAME but DISCONNECTED post that you separately
MULTI-posted in other newsgroups.  Now you'll have to remember to which
other newsgroups you multi-posted and go check each of them for replies
instead of keeping the discussion within a single CROSS-posted thread
across multiple related newsgroups.

PS ... take care not to install any toolbar/adware crap. Read
the install menus carefully. The alternative video player is optional,
but recommended.

Not only that, but people who have taken their valuable time to
research and write a thoughtful reply will often find that someone else
has already answered the question in another group and they've wasted
their time. This has happened to me enough times that if I notice that
the message is a multi-post, I won't bother to get involved even if I
know the answer. Like this time.
