Multimedia User Interfaces

Greetings. There are some exciting developments with regard to multimedia user interfaces. The new developments allow users to make selections of video, as they can with text and hypertext, and then to do things with their selections of video, such as tweet, blog and video blog. The ideas are applicable to digital cable boxes, consoles and computers, media players and web browsers. Users can now comment to, respond to and discuss with one another content from television and the web.

These new developments that extend multimedia usage scenarios may result in new software development opportunities and web applications. Open source project opportunities exist as well, for example XBMC.
