I have a strange occurrence of lag on my local networking. I have a
cable modem that plugs into a Debian server, then that Debian server is
plugged into a switch that all other machines in the house connect to.
So something like:
wan0 -> wan
eth0 -> lan

I'd like to buy a wireless router(?) so that I can set up a network in my flat that:
1. is secure, has http configuration, and is reliable (latter ie. not netgear...)

how steep is the learning curve if one wants to learn the ropes about
networking routers and access points. what education do i need? can

i have a satellite dish decoder, router and access points plus mobile
devices infrastructure which i intend setting up. the problem i have

Need help accessing router setup page

According to the Airlink 101 AR430W specs we should be able to go to
the 192.168.1.1 router page and type admin/admin to get into the
setup. We've tried resetting the modem and router but still can't get
in. We tried other variations on capitalizations and blank passwords
but no difference. Can someone offer more troubleshooting suggestions?... more »

Hello,
It's been awhile since I played around with networking systems and hooking
up Apache to a network and running domains off a system.
I used to do it by having the "modem" pass the NIC an IP address and I
understand it well when going about it in that manner. I started to re-read
