Hi all!

After on my system partition I ran out of free space, I can't align the
icons on the desktop. Yet I made 2 GiB of free space, but I still can't
align icons. I can create folders, files, etc. on my desktop, but I
can't align it. (Other users on the same computer can do that, but my
user can't.)
I have OpenSUSE 11.2 64 bit and Gnome desktop.
Please help me to find the solution!
Thanks very much!

What is different on your desktop from the other users? Have you
installed any personal software, etc.?

I suggest that you go to your desktop settings, and return everything to
the defaults. Then make one change at a time until you find the one item
causing the trouble.

Go to the icons settings, and click on "Align to Grid", and see if that
does it.

Right click on the desktop and see if there's a box checked that says
"Keep Aligned". I have to keep unchecking it in Debian Squeeze and it's
getting old.

To people who know nothing, anything is possible.
To people who know too much, it is a sad fact
that they know how little is really possible -
and how hard it is to achieve it.
