tracks and sprocket question

Hi gang,
I'm looking at spare parts item w991369 at lego ed
(http://www.legoeducation.com/store/detail.aspx?CategoryID=162&by=9&ID=1448&c=1&t=0&l=0)..

I was wondering if it was possible to hook regular lego bricks ontot he
track part? anyone know?

I know the old chain links and conveyer links can't be hokked to bricks....

I believe the holes will fit normal studs inside them, but I'm not sure
of the spacing.
