PC won't boot/post with more than 4GB ram
I have a co-workers PC (HP model P6310) that has 8GB ram. Maybe, if lucky, 1 out of every 20 times it boots. When it does not boot, there are no beeps, no video signal to the monitor. The fans power on and there is disk activity, but no idea what is going on. Finally I removed all but one stick of ram... more »

Water Cooling - Advice re positioning the radiator...
Hi, I'm planning to get the new Corsair Hydro H100. I'd appreciate some advice about the placement of the radiator. I will be fitting it inside a Coolermaster stacker STC-01 case. There is a grilled aperture in the base of the tower which is just the right size and it would be easy and very convenient to mount the rad on the... more »

CPU rapidly heating up
Hello, Given my profession I've fixed a lot of computers to date, but this one baffles me. I have a computer with an AMD Athlon 64 4600+ (2.5 GHz, 65 nm I think). After power on the CPU heats up rapidly coming from room temperature (25 C) to emergency shutdown temp (around 80 C) in under 20 minutes,... more »
