Hi Guys,

I need advice on how I could check bandwidth
use on my home network.
I have Passler network tools installed but
I cannot make out heads or tails out from the information
provided.

How can I deduce which wireless laptop is using
the most bandwidth on/in my home network?

It says here, your tool of choice supports SNMP.

The left axis of the graph here, is in bits/sec. So this
would be an example of getting that info. And the tabular
data says 4735 KByte, from 1/27/2011 12AM to 1/28/2011 12AM.

You might need to change that probe, to focus on the end
device.

With the right combination, a logging computer should be
able to talk to the other computers and get their network
stats.

While a router could keep all these stats itself, it
wouldn't really be a "home" router if it did that.
It would be more of an "enterprise" router. And likely,
so complicated, you'd have just as much trouble getting
a simple answer.

assuming you are running Win7 or later you could use the Network Traffic
gadget (I'm using v8.3). It gives current bandwidth usage but also lists
a total at the bottom which may be what you're after.
