Sorry for the off topic post but I have tried multiple windows groups
for a week and they are dormant or at least will not respond to my
query... this groups is always so helpful and may have some input my
apologies again

Hello all I have recently downloaded TweakUI powertoy after a fresh
install of a light performance edition of WinXP w/SP3, for some reason
the grouping same tasks option (allowing you to choose multiple
instances of the same application w/ a single taskbar button) will not
work.

I have tried the TweakUI setting to group with 2 instances, 3 and so
on nothing.. my taskbar remains cluttered. Even after restart the
option to group instances is selected but is not being applied. I
especially find it useful for Firefox, Windows Explorer etc...

All help is appreciated as this is a very useful option for me.

Thanks

Looks like you never got a reply to this...all I can offer is, there is
a way to toggle this option in XP without the tweaktoy. However I just
switched my computers to Win 7 so can't help you with exactly where it
is. Probably buried in the menus in the taskbar props.
