I am looking for a freeware calendar program, which will
keep track of the time (number of days, at least) between
2 dates and will show the revised number each day or when
requested. My idea is something like a prison calendar,
counting off each day until release. Could be used to
show time until birthdays, anniversaries, deadlines,
next vacation, retirement, library books due, surgery, etc.
Calendar Maker will do calculations of time between known
dates, but the calculation would have to be done each day.
Any sources would be appreciated.

Karen's Countdown Timer looks like what I need.
Despite the naming coincidence Countdown Calendar
was a Mac product. And some
of the others had either a very limited timeframe or
weren't really freeware. I've used Karen's stuff before;
so thanks for the quick response.

I've added this to the next version of Calendar Magic. If you would like
a pre-release copy, please let me know.

I've used Birthday Reminder for years, and love it.

The trouble is that the author has a thing about IE and won't let it on to
his site, so you need another browser. Although I don't like his attitude,
you could still do better than IE.

Iuse the old version (2.1) as I couldn't get the latest version to run on
W98, and ICBA to try it on XP.

For all the problems, I think it's a great program, it just fires up each
time I start, and shows me how many days (user adjustable) till the next
event. It has no alarm clocks, gimmicks etc, just does the job
