Thanks, CoMa. I replaced IrfanView with Faststone Image Viewer a while
back. I like the latter better than the former, not that IrfanView is
that bad.

This one rocks!
Thanks CoMa.

Thanks from me too. Never took to irfanview, and when I found this one I've
stuck with it.
It's a pity there's no drop-down "Check for updates", and file hippo
doesn't seem to come up with the updates either.
When you're viewing an image in FastStone's full screen view, moving the
cursor to an edge of the screen (depending on the edge) will cause
different things to show:
1. Top of screen: image browser
2. Left of screen: menu
3. Right of screen: image info
4. Bottom of screen: toolbar
Can be configured so that clicking on an image in the thumbs view will
cause it to open in full screen view (which is what I prefer). In
Irfanview, you have to hit enter after opening the image.
FastStone has a portable version (which I use), Irfanview also has a
portable version but not at the site. Also, Irfanview is bundleware.
In the past (maybe this has been fixed since) Irfanview had a nagging
problem of not remembering that you had full screened the single image
viewer the last time you'd used it. As a result, every time I used it I
had to maximize the window. Then I had to hit enter to get rid of the menu.
Last FastStone Image Viewer update was the day before yesterday by the way.

If I understand your question correctly, try this:
- go to "Settings"
- select the "Viewer" tab
- in the right column, for "Associated image launches in:", select "Full
Screen"
Does that do what you want?

Glen, you misquoted me. I wasn't asking a question, I was making a
statement about FastStone. Your insertion of "(it)" wasn't called for.
Probably IrfanView can be configured to do the same thing, but as I
mentioned it has an annoying habit of not remembering that it was last
opened at full screen instead of windowed. I even contacted the author
about this a long time ago, but it's never been fixed AFAIK.
Yes. In version 3.8 (which I'm currently using) you click on "File" then
on "Screen capture" and then select how you want to do it.

Ah! I see! Sorry 'bout that.
No need to apologize. By the way, Irfanview probably has editing
features that FastStone doesn't, but all I need is a simple image viewer
since I have commercial software for editing images.
