Avast Throwing Errors? 
  viz: [link] Avast abends - both when trying to update it's virus profiles and when I try to re-install it. Since Chrome was also coughing up it's guts, I guessed it's something with my PC. I've re-imaged, run MemTest+, run Prime95 (CPU stress test)... but nothing jumps out at me.... more »

Can anyone here confirm that msfn.org is down? 
  I get different DNS results for [link] on different PC's, but the results are generally the same - the website is down. Is it down for everyone? Is there a backup site (or newsgroup) where people generally congregate or talk about msfn.org when it goes down?

How to get rid of orphan file links from your Shell32.dll? I don't think there's a way Is everybody's Shell32.dll different? 
  I may be on the wrong track or overthinking this, but I think your /System32/Shell32.dll file has all kinds of junk in it from orphan programs that are no longer used. For example, everybody's Shell32.dll is different, correct? Below is mine--you'll note it's 12.2MB in size and has the checksums as shown. Yours is probably different?... more »

iTunes update blocked by Antivir Premium 2013

problem with replacing exe-files after run/quit

Facebook virus ? 
  Was browsing an acquaintance's Facebook page a few days ago - let's assume his name is Michael Jones. Today I discovered a file in my downloads called: microsoft_michael_install_jone s.zip, which contains an exe of the same name. Avast says it is win32:malware.gen.
