I am running WinXP Pro. I am replacing my former AV, Trend Micro
Titanium, with Kaspersky AV 2013.
When I attempt to install KAV2013 and it goes through the procedure
and says any conflicting programs have successfully been removed.
However, I am convinced some components of the Trend AV still remain
and are creating a conflict.
On boot, I get a hard BSOD crash. The system auto reboots and I get
the same crash every time.
I found the Trend Micro removal tool on Kaspersky's web site, however,
in the list of Trend products it removes, Trend Micro Titanium (2012
version was the installed version) is NOT listed.
Any advice about how to positively clear leftovers from the Trend
product would greatly be appreciated.
The only other conflict I can think of is Emsisoft Anti-Malware, which
also auto starts on boot. Does this conflict with KAV2013? It isn't
touched by the KAV2013 installer, which claims to remove conflicting
programs...so it seems to me it should be okay living along with
KAV2013.
Thanks for any tips.
Dave
