Actually, my memory is a little foggy tonight; and I just don't feel like
looking up your file (yea, hehe, I have a file on you... lol) but I do
remember you being a helpdesk worker at one of those places. Oh wait,
that would be nasa's laboratory. They are one in the same aren't they?

Er wait, see; at one point you played a pissing contest with me; a horse
picture, remember? :) I do. That's what led to your file's creation in
the first place. I tried to play nice, but you irked me so; I called you
at home and at work; Spoke to your brother the first time. Spoke to you
the second time. Do you know what gave you away? The jaw dropping silence
I could hear when I identified myself to you, sir. hehehehe.
I could just imagine the look on your face. I'm not so anonymous after
all, and neither are you. LoL.

You already know the number I called you on. You lied and told me it was
a special secret number of some sort and I shouldn't ever call back on
it. I don't think the support help desk is any real secret, but, who
knows these days; maybe it is and you'd like to see me in some sort of
trouble for posting it? Don't forget Chris, I called you at the job you
run with your brother; your little digital video company, and then I
called you at work; as he told me I could find you; at work.
To his credit, he didn't give up where you worked. I already had that
information when I called the first time. And as you know, the only
reason I ever went that far was because *you* invited me to do so.
Don't ever invite someone like me to actually employ our skillsets in
anyway we see fit my friend. I'm not a dick, but I know some with
skillsets like mine who are.

Yea, sure you have. I believe that about as much as I believe the
bullshit comments all over that blog of yours.
It's amazing what someone will post in usenet, that they didn't say on the
phone (he wasn't that bad, had good manners on the phone, was very polite
and had to go really quick after he composed himself.. lol) but here on
usenet, he sure does talk alot of shit.

Sorry, I can't see your blog. MVPS hosts blocks it.
Most respected hosts files now block his garbage; along with atleast one
resident protection module. :)

Heh!
You're the author of MBAM, right? I've been using the free version
for quite some time and I appreciate your hard work!
I also use SuperAntiSpyware, just in case yours misses something. Is
there anything else you would recommend for thorough protection?
He's the author of Bughunter (plus some other fairly well known
programs), but *not* MBAM.

Nope. I am not MBAM's author. That credit belongs to Marcin and the rest of
the development team. I am on the research team tho.

A good antivirus program, not a suite mind you as I don't see any reason to
bog your system down without just cause.

What would you recommend as a good anti virus program (not a suite)
that would work well with MBAM?

BTW, I am using the paid-version of MBAM
Avira AntiVir and MBAM.

Thanks for the recommendation. However, I tried Avira once before and
had problems with it. I don't recall right now, but I'm a bit shy of
it as a result.
Would you have another suggestion?

Microsoft Security Essentials.
Avast, Avira all work fine.. others may have more recommendations. I just
listed those in random order off the top of my head.
Avast! Home Edition (free).
Just be aware that there is the occasional problem with any combo of two
scans running simultaneously, and that's with ANY brand of either AV or
"antimalware". I think the problem is that there's enough "crossover"
between the two that they both are trying to act on the same file.
I have had Avast! (in resident mode) "jumping in" and squawking when
MBAM would access a temporary internet file with questionable qualities.
Avast! in resident mode looks at files "as they are opened", and MBAM
has to "open a file" (but not run it)to look at it.
I've seen similar problems with NAV /Lavasoft AdAware, AVG/SAS, and
other combos in the past.
For Dustin:
I was planning on getting the paid (resident) version of MBAM, but one
of my "customers"(I wish.. just someone who asks me for advice:}) gave
me two paid licenses for SAS for Christmas. (maybe I *am* getting paid
after all!).One went on my wife's machine, the other on a box I just
built for my brother. (Both are "at risk" due to lack of 'pooter savvy)
I'm still using the free (on demand) MBAM as well tho. I'm the "Belt and
Suspenders" type... I'll probably put MBAM on my new box "in progress".
Reality is both MBAM and SAS are great tools that complement each other..
So what is wrong with Microsoft Security Essentials? Why should I *NOT*
use it?

I had this problem yesterday. In future I will disable Avast! before
running MBAM with Internet connection closed.
Both are great programs but they don't play well together.
