Wish we'd get more of these creator-spotlight issues and a whole lot
fewer obscure-company-focus issues. That ACG mag was brutal to slog
through, and I flat-out refused to order the upcoming St. John's fest,
Kubert TOR cover or no.
The company-history stuff =is= important, but not nearly interesting
enough to endure fifty or sixty pages exclusively focused thereon. I'd be
totally cool with seeing that stuff serialized, one article an issue,
over an extended period. (It'd make better business sense, too, to keep
the people that go nuts for that stuff coming back month after month
rather than having them buy the one ish and move on.)
Some of us would rather have the company issues than yet another
interview with a creator who answers "I don't remember" to every
question, although Joe Simon won't do that.
That said, the ACG issue needed an editor when the orginal book was
published and still needed one when Roy reprinted it. A lot of good
information told in a thoroughly rambling and disorganized manner. At
least this version had pictures.
