:)

It's sad to think if I can use Photoshop and make Urban look the comic
book Judge Dredd, why can't Rebellion and DNA? I don't understand why
they have to make unnecessary, foolish changes. In my humble opinion
he looks very much like the comic book Judge Dredd in that image.
Smaller jawline and jaw perhaps but the overall look is very much
2000AD's Judge Dredd.

"Smaller jawline and chin" I mean!

I think the uniform change is tragic. You can see from my photoshop -
he looks great with smaller shoulder-pads. Why didn't they do that?
It's unforgivable to change a classic look and come up with something
inferior. To me that's as bad as Dredd taking off the helmet. Epic
mistake to **** up the uniform.

This is the sort of dumb comment you get from some 2000AD fans:

Poster George Moore:

"A lot of people who are just as passionate about Dredd as the people
on this board have put a lot of time and effort into realising this
screen version. I genuinely believe they're doing their best and doing
it with the best of intentions."

So this is why the film is now called 'Dredd' when every single IPC/
Fleetway/Rebellion Judge Dredd product uses the words

JUDGE DREDD

How can anyone say "they're doing their best" when they've already
consigned the word 'Judge' to the bin? How is that "doing their
best?"

How can any fan say "they're doing their best" when the character has
been known as Judge Dredd for 33 years but the new film is called
'Dredd'?

And why do fans have to accept this sort of dumb change? They (the
film makers) should respect the character's full name. Start off
getting the basics right.

More dumb comments from George Moore:

"The 1995 Stallone costume might have been closer in many respects to
the comic book version, but I think the new version is going to look
better on screen. Realistically, no actor or even stunt man is going
to be able to have unrestricted movement with a giant metal eagle on
his shoulder - it's no accident that Stallone didn't get involved in
any real physical 'action' until after he'd taken the uniform off!

A uniform that allows the actors unrestricted physical movement will
enable us to see Dredd and fellow Judge(s) do great action scenes, an
I'd far rather have that than a slavish reproduction of the uniform
any day. Imagine trying to pull a manoeuvre like a dive and roll for
cover with that eagle on your shoulder... this would quickly end with
something similar to "CLUNK!... OUCH!" at best. Making it look
graceful or even believable on screen would be a nightmare."

-------------------------------------

What this twit doesn't realize - the 1989 Batman couldn't even move
his neck. Yep, the costume didn't allow Michael Keaton to turn his
neck without the rest of his body moving too. Did that stop Batman
doing his action stuff? Of course not. He jumped about, hit people
etc. No-one said "oooh, he can't do that cos he can't move his neck!"

Get real, people. It's no big deal if Dredd wears some decent size
shoulder pads. If Batman can't move his neck but millions are spent
making that 1989 film, I'm sure DNA and Rebellion can make a new Judge
Dredd film with Dredd wearing some decent size shoulder pads!

The original Judge Dredd uniform with slightly smaller shoulder pads,
pole chain instead of regular link chain, dark black fabric vs the new
Judge Dredd film uniform:

http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4061/dreddoriginalvsdreddrev.jpg

Which one looks closer to the source material?

The uniform on the left.

Which one looks neater?

The uniform on the left.

Which one looks cheaper looking?

The uniform on the right.

There's not one advantage using the uniform on the right. It looks
inferior to the version on the left, it looks visually less appealing,
it looks messier in design.

The film makers have made a huge mistake - they've altered the uniform
and made it look much worse. It's unacceptable to come up with a
uniform that is radically inferior to the original design.

Anyone seriously believing the version on the right is

A) faithful to the source material

B) aesthetically pleasing to the eye

C) makes Dredd look more imposing

needs their head examined. The producers of this new Judge Dredd film
are utterly clueless. 45 million dollars at their disposal and they
can't even get the uniform right! Don't wish to be unkind, but c'mon,
it's just sad and pathetic.
