I've written two articles for Shecky!, and Brian and Tracy do a great job of putting together a fun magazine every month. Curtin -see for yourself, www.sheckymagazine.com

Every month, it's a great read for anyone in the comedy business. Since you post in here you will see other ACS members being interviewed or writing aritcles for it.
>They asked me if I wanted to write an >article about quiting comedy.
Do it. But make sure you use a spellcheck so you're quitting instead of quiting.
Well...we publish it and edit it...what might you want to know? I mean, over and above what you might glean from READING THE THREE ISSUES THAT ARE UP THERE ON THE WEB RIGHT NOW?
You're behaving like someone who might actually get paid for writing an article. (You won't-- no one does--not even us!)
And what's with all this sneaking around in front of my back? (If you'll recall, I contacted you after seeing your post on...alt.comedy.standup)
Oh, well. It was nice to hear some of the folks on the newsgroup say nice things.
BTW:
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Z.com laid off 50 workers -- half of its staff -- Monday, as the entertainment Netcaster secured a lifeline enabling it to stay in business at least into next spring.
"It's a tough time," Z.com CEO Joe DiNunzio told Daily Variety. The layoffs affected staffers across the board.
"Today's a very challenging day to have to let some really talented people go, but it's in the best interest of the company. We remain focused to turn this into a viable business."

If not, will someone please grab the comedy.com domain? I just spent a lot of money on business cards and mailing labels... Curtin
Somebody with a better understanding of the constitution help me out --
If the electoral college vote is a 269-269 tie (which is mathematically possible this year), who is assumes the presidency and how is the tie broken.
I heard somebody on the radio say that Strom Thurmond would be next in line and that the house would break the tie, but that doesn't sound right to me.
- Matusof should have paid more attention in social studies

Brian, I didn't mean to insult you. I always try and research anything beforeI undertake a project. I thought asking the question in the forum would give a me greater idea of who reads SHECY and how it was received. Kind of like asking people who have purchsed a particular type of car before you buy it, regardless of how much you believe what the salesmen told you about it.
And I realized I wasn't going to get paid. Again I apologize if I seem skeptical or seem weird about it. But hell I'm still a comic at heart, what the heck do you expect!?!?
Thanks again for the request (offer) to put my thoughts into a larger forum. I will be submitting something shortly to you. If you'll still have me.
To answer your questions (in a decidedly PUBLIC forum), the magazine is read by standup comics, standup comedy fans and industry-types from 47 countries.
Our contributors are all standup comics, as are the editors. Even our internet service provider is a former practicing comic.
We've been on the WWW for 19 months and we're gathering more readers every month. We've interviewed Mitch Hedberg, Dick Cavett, A. Whitney Brown, Shelley Berman, Dr. Will Miller, Bob Zany among others.
We've featured some of the brightest and funniest writers in the entertainment business today, including writers from The Dennis Miller Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show.
In the spring of 2001, we will celebrate the second anniversary of our launch with the SHECKYmagazine.COMICS-Only Reunion a three-day debauch in downtown Las Vegas, April 1,2,3.
SHECKYmagazine.com is not a so-called "corporate" site. It is not backed by venture capitalists or a large entertainment conglomerate. It was started and is edited and published by husband and wife standup comics Brian McKim and Traci Skene.
Each issue is lovingly hand-crafted in the U.S.A. SHECKYmagazine.com has been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Dallas Morning News, the Boston Globe the Detroit Free Press and on WCBS NewsRadio (NYC).

If the President and Vice President both die, the speaker of the house is next in line. But that's irrelevant to an election tie.
In case of a tie, the house makes the decision.

If more people paid more attention to a lot of things, there wouldn't be much work for lawyers.
Stu Can you spare $100,000 so I can buy a coffee company?
