Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on the most cost efficient places to have
custom tshirts made to sell at shows (I'd like to use cafepress.com
for the online ones, but need some for at shows).

Also - any suggestions on what is involved in creating a cd?
Suggestions on equipment to use or companies to use to have it
recorded/edited and then printed?

I know - it's comedy business related so maybe this isn't the forum
but any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Tom at Standup Stuff is your best bet for shirts. Cafepress is fine for online
orders, but it's over twice what Tom will charge you per shirt and you can only
do white or light gray shirts unless you setup a corporate deal with them
(which is expensive as hell).

As far as the CD goes, you can get them done just about anywhere for $2.00 each
unless you are willing to buy a large quantity. Recording and production vary
from area to area. If you tell me where you want to record it, I can probably
recommend some people.

San Francisco area.....

Standupstuff.com is a pretty outdated website - yikes....I don't see
baby doll tees on there or long sleeved shirts. I'm assuming with the
right quantity they could order just about any type of quality shirt
you'd want?

Thanks!

Probably. Most t-shirt companies, large and small, will work with you on
the product.

I use a small firm out of Apex, NC - Ads In Action. The guy running the
place is very cool, and reasonably priced. I had a one-time setup fee (for the
design) and shirts (100% cotton, Hanes Beefy T's), white with black print, run
me about 4.25 each.

Joel's email address is: adac...@interpath.com

They also have a phone number you could get effortlessly thru a search of
yellow page numbers.

Tell him I sent ya!

For T-shirts:
I highly reccommend the people I have been dealing with for the last two years.
Very professional, dependable, nice, and reasonable (yup better deal than what
Steve described for the same same) STERLING IMPRESSIONS

Oh, yeah...?

Well, I double-checked my last receipt, and it turns out I'm paying 4 bucks
a shirt, and not 4.25, as reported earlier...

Still got me beat...?

I think it would be great if you and Gelder got into a war over who had
the better tee shirt guy. Other comics could side with Gelder and some with
you. Soon an all-out war could take place between comics, becoming so
heated and intense that it hits the front page of newspapers throughout the
country. Skirmishes could break out on stages all over the country.

"Sterling Impressions!", a comic might scream from the stage, fist
raised high ala Mick Jagger, as a horde of opposing comics storm the stage
shouting, "Ads in Action".

This could take comedy off the back pages, off the entertainment page,
and place it squarely on the front page. Comedy needs something like this -
an all-out tee shirt war. It could get so steamy that you might walk into
'Sterling Impressions' one day and when they ask, "What do you want on the
tee shirt?", you can say, "Just put your name on it. Just put 'Sterling
Impressions on the front and back of the tee shirt in really big letters."
Then you could walk around all day advertising your advertisement source.

That's what comedy needs - an all-out tee shirt war. Then, when all
the hoopla dies down I can at last move in with my idea, which is better
than any goddamned tee shirt. If you think your idea for a tee shirt image
is a good one, you should be prepared to take it all the way. Have it
indelibly tatooed into your skin, chest and back alike. I am the guy who
will do it. I'm taking art lessons right now, drawing and sketching, and
will have my tatoo license in a few years. But first, we need a good tee
shirt war. So, let's get with it, guys!

It also says "if you don't see what you're looking for, ask."

Tom can get any promotional item you need from shirts, can huggers & keyrings,

Hey, Skyving! I just found my most recent most recent invoice for t's -

$3.82 per shirt. THREE EIGHTY-TWO!!!! PER!!!

Can your precious company beat that, Koettbullar...?

I'll be sitting over here when you want to admit you've been beaten worse
than Hugh Fink in a one-on-one match-up against Wilt Chamberlain...

Since I do my own shirts the last ones I did only cost me about $2 bucks. I
could do better if I bought a larger quanity.
I paid .89 for the blanks. I am guess at the screen print cost. Probably
less.
Now how about those bumper stickers, cds and I think Tanyalee did key chains.
Any great deals out there??

OK, how many colors is that?
Is it only printed on the front? Or on the back too.
Did you design it yourself? Or use an artist.
What's the shirt quality? Can you see your hand through them?
Does that include shipping?
Can you take 30 days to pay?

My thoughts exactly.

I am going to contact each of the respective tshirt vendors (I have a
few other local contacts I use but I don't think they can go this
low)...but this is what I want and will hopefully get quotes on that I
can send to everyone to compare prices.

- Baby doll
- Long sleeved beefy t (I realize this is more expensive)
- regular beefy tshirt (white or black only is fine)

- Most of the time it's black or white print only on the front but I
will price for multiple colors. (I won't do back and front). I will
also be providing my own artwork as necessary.

Typically - costs really go up when you add extra colors to the mix
and there are always your standard costs associated with even printing
in the first place.

Thanks for everyone's input - this is quite interesting...especially
if some vendors tshirts are significantly more expensive (or cheaper)
than eachother...I'm gonna get down to the bottom of this t-shirt war
and find out - who - in fact - is the last Tshirt vendor standing....

Thanks!

A great thing about tom at standupstuff is the personalized service
that he gives and advice about the comedy t-shirt business. That in
itself is worth a lot.
