I once told my wife's dad (before we were married) that I wanted to be a
puppeteer when I grew up. It was a joke, and I thought he knew I was joking.
Two years later, my wife (girlfriend back then) told me that her dad had
this look of relief when he found out i was really in college. For two
years, he accepted that his daughter was dating a puppeteer - that's
unconditional love!
