Is she still with us? I saw her as Sherry in "Three Sappy People" and
then saw her as she appeared in an interview taken just recently, I
think. She talked about the cream puff throwing scene and how one of
them went right down her throat. She was also in "Oily To Bed, Oily To
Rise" and God knows how many others. I sure would like to write to her.

Yes indeed. She appears regularly at Western film conventions, having appeared
with many of the old cowboy stars. She was very young when she did the Stooge
films, as I don't think she is quite 80 years old today (which would make her
in her late teens at the time of Three Sappy People --- and the marry her up
with Don Beddoe!).

Hey, thanks for the info on that. Now if I only knew where I could
write to her....
She had the most beautiful eyes and a very charming smile. How many
Stooges shorts was she in?

As far as I remember, Lorna Gray/Adrian Booth Brian was in 4 consecutive
shorts and no others: `Oily to Bed,Oily to Rise', "Three Sappy People", "You
Nazty Spy" and "Rockin Thru the Rockies. SHe appeared at the 1995 Philly
convention and had a great time posing for photos behind an 8-ball , signing
autographs, etc.She even read some poetry on stage if I remember correctly. I
believe she was born in 1924.

Beats me why Dave Bushong would try to censor mention of a Stooge film
player. Silly little man.

Ok, I was going to be surprised if she was only 15 when she did those Stooges
shorts. If she was born in 1918, then she has past 80. But she is still with
us and does still appear at conventions.

The more Gary talks about the Philly convention that featured Lorna Gray,
Harold Brauer, Emil Sitka, et al, the more I wish I had attended.

Jim-
I'm sure you would have had a blast at any of the Philly conventions. Although
Emil Sitka never made it to one, we had a number of interesting guests over the
years including Diana Darrin, Lucille Lund("Daisy Waisy'), Lola Jensen("Cricket
Kelly"),Hal Fryar & Bruce Sedley("Outlaws"), Suzanne Kaaren(Gail Tempest), and
Mousie Garner just to name a few. Most of these people were thrilled to be
remembered by fans after all these years.
We also had Stooge relatives in attendance quite regularly. One year we
arranged a first-time meeting between Curly's 2 daughters from different
marriages, Jane Hanky and Marilyn Ellman. Another year Ted Healy Jr. made his
first-ever appearance at a Stooges event.
It was also fun watching a 16mm print of "Soup to Nuts" on a big screen as
well as a 3-D copy of "Spooks"with the funny glasses and everything.
Ah, the good old days!

Ok now THAT'S a Stooge tribute, kids. Not a gathering for the sake of selling
products, not an inaccurate TV movie.

A Stooge convention! My favorite fruit!!
That's what I mean, JN........a large gathering of people united by one common
denominator.......a love for the Stooges....no fights, no angry comments, no
legalities to muck over.....just good, ole-fashioned FUN!!!!!!

From what I understand, Gary can't hold these conventions anymore because
Comedy III has disallowed it. Now do you understand why we get a little pissed
sometimes? (Email me about new Lennon book I just bought).

You have surely hit the nail squarely on the head, Jim and Laura! Is it
possible for us to get back to that? This talk of C-III and legalities is
taking up a lot of valuable space, IMHO.

Stooges singing: "We didn't come to borrow any money
We didn't come to borrow any dough
We didn't come to borrow any trouble
We just stop by to say hello!"

Hey, let's not ever fogret to also mention the names Frank and Phyllis
Reighter--

Whom, according to all STOOGE fan histories available--

:-)

--worked so incredibly hard to run the Pennsylvania STOOGES conventions,
all those years.

(And whom, on a personal note, were extremely nice to meet, this past
May!)

Best, Jim

Jim-
The sad fact is that C3 is now harassing fans who want to have private
get-togethers as well. Last month we had a meeting of the Three Stooges fan
club that was not publicized to the general public(no press releases, publicity
packets etc). Only readers of the club's newsletter were informed about it .
There was no admission charge, no charge for autographs, etc. We just wanted to
watch films together, show off our collections and talk Stooges.
Not only did I receive a threatening letter from C3, but the Holiday Inn
where the meeting was to take place received a series of letters which said
that if C3 needed to obtain an injunction to stop the meeting, the Holiday Inn
would be named as one of the defendants.
An injunction to stop a group of Stooges fans from getting together??? You'd
think it was a meeting of the KKK or at least an anti-Stooges group they were
trying to stop.
We're all aware of the nasty letters that C3 has sent to fans who run
Stooge websites, fans who run Stooge mail-order businesses and fans who post
anti-C3 comments just to name a few.
I wonder what Moe & Larry would think if they knew that this was how their
"heirs"
were treating their fans?
Seinfeld had his "Soup Nazi". Do we now have the "Stooge Nazis"?
All I can say is that if you plan on visiting a friend, watching a few
Stooge videos and enjoying a six-pack, you'd better make sure that the shades
are down so that the "Scrooges who run the $tooges" don't discover what you're
doing!

newsgroup, Gail. Doesn't that make you just a little upset? It does me.

Who the hell does C3 think they are, anyway?? I collect beanie babies and this
maker of them, Ty Warner, has stopped anybody and everybody that uses the name
"beanie".........excuse me! I used to WEAR a beanie in Catholic grade school!
Why hasn't the Pope sued HIM (Ty Warner)??!!

Do they think they own everything that has the word "stooge" in it? So does
that mean they can stop auctions on eBay and other websites if anyone uses
"stooge" in their description and tries to sell stooge stuff?

This doesn't sound right to me.....are we living in Russia, or what? What
happened to freedom of speech?? They can't do anything as long as we're not
SELLING anything....we're just here bullshitting about our love for the
boys....that's it....plain and simple......I have enough legal prob's of my
own! Why do you think I stopped posting? I' m tired of it!

I stated that it appears that way, I can't say for positive. But they
certainly are chagrined by any mention of the Stooges for which they do not get
a payoff.

Please, don't get me wrong, folks. Naturally I'm concerned about C-III trying
to censor and using strong arm tactics against innocent stooge fans. The very
people they want to hock their wares to.
But I have seen this before, give 'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves.
They are digging their own graves. I would think there should be a few
"bright" people working there to realize this by now, but... but I guess not.

Listen C-III, no amount of merchandising, etc., is going to make us Stooge
fans love them anymore than we already do. For most of us, this was
established a long time ago before YOU existed. And reality check here: you
are not making any friends. So if you want to continue making a living,
supporting your families and have a job to go to everyday--- cease and desist.

You are under estimating the influence of the typical stooge person. Without
us, there would be no C-III whether you like it or not. Just some friendly advice.
A major Stooge fan forever,
Gail
