I see that Mr. Benjamin has moved into censorship mode on his "official"
Three Stooges web site. Many of the posts critical of him and C3 as well as
his replies have vanished. Maybe, just maybe, he realized what a buffoon he
was making of himself. (Fortunately I have saved most of them onto a disk!)

More than likely, though, his legal brain kicked into high gear and figured
he was digging himself into a hole. The principle of "Fair Use" is something
that all people or groups are entitled to. If a group or club wishes to
discuss, trade photos and memorabilia relating a particular public figure or
figures living or dead, then the law can't touch them. I'm sure there are
many legal precedents that address this. Mr. Benjamin , being an astute
attorney, realized he mustn't try to squash too many fan sites or forums lest
he tread on the one who is likely to call his bluff and meet him in court.

Perhaps some more research is in order before we go hog wild and start up fan
site after fan site!

I noticed that too. If you go to the search engine, and happen to
remember a key word in one of the "offending" posts, you can still find
it, though. Of course this is very hit and miss, and the average
visitor to the newsgroup will never see the "truth".

Totally amazing. C3s legal eagles told the owner of a competing group
that the moderator was monitoring the posts and only posting items that
reflected his own point of view. Et tu, C3?
