Victor Herbert operetta.

Reputation solidified by a recent viewing of
the Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves
version.

Quality-wise, the Disney version is about halfway in between.

The 1986 Clive Donner adaptation has got to be one of the worst film
adaptations ever, failing to re-create any of the charm of the original.
I think the American Film Institute could do us a great favor by
transferring the 1986 version of "Babes in Toyland" from safety stock to
highly flammable nitrate.
