This team has it bases covered- and after his team's TN win and a possible BOAT
victory next weekend, I think Tom is trying to shoot for his own Summer
Triple Crown. But Tom's teammates are strong as well, and maybe in areas
(i.e., trash) that he might not be as strong.

The Goy team should be strong, and I hope we are competitive as well (it will
be fun to play on a team with Sheahan and Alice again- we played our first
college tournament ever on the same team almost 5 years ago). A lot of this
depends on whatever format they are planning on using. I don't recall if
there will be playoffs or something modified from the ACF Nationals.

Actually, those MD teams are much more trashy than they tend to admit. After
their performance at Penn Bowl, I think that the Arthurs can be contending
for the top.

I have not seen any results either. So here's is a very sketchy synopsis:

13 teams played a full round robin over two days at the beautiful campus
of the University of Tennessee. From memory only (please correct me if I am
wrong), the results were:

1) The Quadrilateral Commission (Tom Waters, Jeff Johnson, Jordan Katine,
J.J. Todor) 12-0

2) Legion of Superheroes (Jim Dendy, Jason King, Don Windham, Dr. Meredith)
10-2 (lost to QC and N.W.A.)

3) Mary Oberempt Fan Club (Andrew Yaphe, Rick Grimes, Christine Moritz, John
Edwards) 10-2 (lost to Legion and QC)

4) A Whiter Shade of Yellow (Patrick Brannon, Jason Hong, Long Nguyen, Hing?)
9-3

5) Mayberry Mafioso (Jon Saluda, Martin P., Larry Sorrels, Bobby Shepard)
8-4

6) Tongan Crips (Gourab B., Randy Buehler, Ben Lee, Charlie Steinhice) 7-5

7) N.W.A. (David Hamilton, David Goodman, Matt Colvin, Arthur Fleming) 7-5
(lost head-to-head with Tongan Crips)

Then my memory gets hazy...

The other team were (in no particular order)

Pig Wind (A group from Florida)
Slaughterhouse Four (from Memphis)
An Illinois team (with a French name I cannot recall)
A team of Guy Jordan, Carol Herin, Clay Davenport, and Phi O'Donoghue

There are two more and I am blanking- my apologies.

Thanks to Carol Gutherie for, as always, an outstanding tournament with
great competition.
