To put in bluntly, South Carolina beat Maryland A in the finals
to win Wahoo War.
In a little more detail, teams were divided into two divisions
of 13 and 14, and the top eight from each pool advanced into a
single elimination playoff. In one pool, the top four teams
were Maryland A, Georgia Tech A, George Washington A (?), Emory A;
in the other, it was South Carolina, George Washington B, Georgia Tech B,
and Duke. The upper rounds of the playoffs went something
like this :
Quarterfinals --
South Carolina beat Emory A
Georgia Tech A beat Georgia Tech B
Maryland A beat Roanoke
George Washington B beat Maryland B (?)
Semifinals --
South Carolina beat Georgia Tech A
Maryland A beat George Washington B
Finals --
South Carolina beat Maryland A, 215-185 (or thereabouts)
Congratulations to South Carolina for a fine tournament (I
believe they went undefeated), and to Tom Waters, the top
scorer. I'm sure more detailed (and possibly more accurate)
results will be posted in the near future.
