Hi. Someone told me that there was a discussion on this group about a
plastic flower making kit from the 60s/70s. I received a great kit from my
mom when I was a girl. It contained plastic flower pots, with plastic "soil"
with holes, stems, different leaves, stamens, petals, etc. Is this what you
guys were talking about? If so, what is it called?? Has anyone found one
again?? I would love to have this kit so badly. I guess that's one reason I
love the flower pot Dawns: it combines those flowers with Dawn. How much
closer to heaven can you get????

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Susan

I cant remember the name off the top of my head it was Milton Bradleys dip a
flower?
(is that right Robin???)
But I dont remember flower pots with it, so it may not be the one you are
thinking of, the dip a flower you molded petals out of wire then dipped them
into goo.

Yes, that is was ya sent me, Dip-a-flower by Milton Bradley. I have been using
it to make Dawn sunglasses LOL. There were SO many kits in the arts and crafty
70's.
I remember this pourable clear acrylic gunk that you could suspend stuff in
(like a coin, flower etc.) into a molded shape to make like a paperweight. I'm
sure it was highly toxic LOL! I also am trying to remember the name of a kids
watercolor set I used to LOVE that came in little plastic non-spill containers
that you poked your brush into, for some reason Dip-n-dots is sticking in my
head, but I'm sure that's the frozen astronaut ice cream at Great Adventure.
Anybody remember those?
Hugz!

oh! oh! I had both of those.... actually my Dad did the resin stuff (the clear
stuff) and I clearly remember having the dip-a-flower thingee. I remember making
those petals from wire, and then dipping to make the petals. i remember my fav
color at the time was purple, and the purple flower stuff make the most beautiful
dark reddish purple petals...

ah memories. all for sale on ebay, i'm sure... (my BF and i won an auction last
night for a vac-u-form... only $100!! sigh...)

I think those paint pots were called "Playnts".

I had a kit for making plastic flowers but I can't remember what it was called.
It wasn't Dippin Flowers, it was something completely different. The petals,
middles, leaves and such were already molded. You just had to put them together
however you wanted.

The set I had wasn't the dipping flowers type. It sounds more like set that
you had Wendy. The flowers and pots looked like the Flower Fantasy Dawns
(except the pots were green) but you got to put the flowers together anyway
you wanted. The flowers, leaves, and stamins were plastic. Oh what fun!!! I
even checked Toys R Us to see if they had anything similar but NOOOO! :-(

I loved those dip a flower kits! Remember how you'd put the petals into a
styrofoam block to dry? I think I remember having some of the dip stuff drip
onto the styrofoam and burn a hole into it! I didn't care what was in that
stuff. It just made such beautiful flowers! Kam

We have a kit up here called Pretty Petals but it sux. I was very
unhappy with the results. Definitely not the cool kit that my Mum had so
many years ago. Too bad she sold the flowers she made at a garage sale.
Looking back now, she sold many cool things at garage sales. She thought
I would want the ugly Royal Doulton figurine wearing an ugly avocado

Actually she ended up giving it to my sister-in-law. Not sure which one
it is. I will be getting a brand new one for Christmas called Becky
though. She is wearing a light pink slip gown. I think I prefer the
modern ones.
