when they're writing to ACBB. It makes everyone more real to me. I know
many of you hate LONG polls, but if you get a chance...please try to
answer. We've done this before and it really helps people get to know
each other better and when we know each other better we have a tendency

1. What color are the walls?
light green base with dark green accents (?) I used the ragging method.
You pain the wall and then use a folded rag dipped in the other color and
roll it down the walls. It creates a marblelike look, it looks better than
it sounds.

My husband's spare bureau, this computer desk, hutch and printer stand, my
old computer (for bookkeeping) and it's desk, 2 chairs, a bookcase and file
cabinet.

Our wedding photograph, my daughter's, my husband's, my grandparents', my
cat's, my parents' and 2 autographed photos from David Bowie (1 from 1987
and one from 1996).

No, hardwood floor

When the cat isn't in it, I see trees, the lawn and flowers and can see the

a beautiful old fireplace to my left (my precious Beanie Bears are displayed
on its mantle since we don't actually use it for fires), my kitchen is to my
right and my TV and stuff are behind me when I'm at the computer.... I have
lots of windows in this old country farmhouse and get the sunrise through
the windows on either side of the fireplace... I have lots of artwork
hanging, reminders of the days when I had but one child, no husband and
enough money to spend on investment pieces... Beanies are definitely
cheaper! <G>
To my left in front of one window is a recliner, and behind me on the left
is my coveted hand-painted bistro set, purchased last summer ostensibly to
have on the front porch but I love it too much to put it outside! To my
right there's a swivel chair, then the couch facing in toward the fireplace,
and another swivel chair by the entertainment center behind me to the right.
I have one of those bad prefab computer desks but it serves its purpose...
the living room is littered with all manner of toys... I do have a toddler,
the 8 year old is good about cleaning up and the 3 month old is good about
not making a mess yet! <G> the portacrib is in front of the fireplace, the
toy chest to its left and the bookcase along the righthand wall...
We moved her about a year and a half ago, into this lovely old farmhouse...
My closest neighbors are the cows in the fields to our left and right and
they're no trouble! I can see the high pasture from my window at my desk
and often watch them being tortured by the dogs from the Big House behind us
(my landlord's brother owns it).
My desk is usually a wreck, between paperwork BBOC cards, pacifiers and just
general clutter but I know where everything is! :o)
anyway, that's my computer room... sorry so long, but I wanted to try to
paint a mental picture!

**Yep, of my boys, my neices and nephews. and one of my grandpa

two desks, a little table between the two desks which holds the scanner, two
wooden crates, holding mags, computer software, etc, 3 chairs, a wooden
diningroom chair, and two plastic outdoor chairs, two end tables. when I
finally get around to it, I'm getting a futon or daybed for in here.

on my desk a picture of me and my 3 best friends, on the wall behind the
desks an autographed picture of Robert Beltran (from Star Trek-Voyager), a
cross stitch picture commemorating my wedding day, an outdoorsy picture, on
the wall with the window, a collage of pictures from my past in a plastic
box frame, and a cross stitch picture of the Care Bear lion, then the wall
behind me has a Pooh and Tigger poster.

tan carpet, then on top of that is a green/white area rug

I see a neighbors house across the alley, and past that I can see most of

it's a white/black checkerboard kinda thing, with multicolored lines in it,
it was just something I threw up there from the old place just to have

a grey marbled looking top and black computer desk

argh a huge mess, right now an empty soda bottle, Squealer buddy on top of
Snort buddy, Waddle buddy, Brittania, in front of my monitor is Meadow the
cow Puffkin, the picture of my friends I mentioned before, on top of the
monitor is 3 non Ty cow beanies, a Tigger beanie, Valentina, Kicks, and
Millenium.

sister. A cougar figure on my computer. A oval box originally from
england I think, originally had candy in it, which I bought at a flea
market--has a painting of a cat cavalier on it. Also at the moment my
Chilly and Germania trading cards are sitting on the computer along
with 6 Kikaida trading cards (Japanese superhero from 1970's tv).
And of course my Marvian the Martian mouse pad is beside me.

**Hubby and I have matching glass and black steele desks. They are both in
an L shape.... and when they are together they are in a shape of a T. I
have the left side, he has the right side. Both of our computers are on the
top f the T, while we sit looking toward the top of the T. Does that make
sense? Also, there is a table in the corner for my nephews computer. (Yup
3 puter's in one room)

**Marlboro Mirror (cause it looks cool, goes from a picture to a mirror

Hey, I just bought one of these too. I think its great! Except, ours
meows at all hours. My kitties were a little worried at first. they
couldn't find that cat anywhere=)
Our vet has a clock with cats& dogs that does a different thing for each
hour. Something cats sing. Another time we heard meow meow woof woof
meow meow. It's pretty cute!

I understand about compromise. My poor hubby marries a tax attorney with
Valentine's Day being in the midst of the first peak. That's when everyone
gets their W-2's and want to electronically file their return to get their
money FAST. So, Jim & I celebrated Valentine's Day 2 weeks later when it
slows a bit and I could take a day off.
Now here's the sad part, the poor guy can't celebrate his birthday on the
right day, had to wait to the weekend after. What's his birthday? I don't
know if anyone guessed it yet, because it's not quite what you think......it
April 14th. LOL Poor guy will not get a break until I retire. That's a
bit of awhile away.

here in a second.. it actually sounds kind of cool.. my hubby is an airplane
freak...
He used to be aviation ordinance in the Navy, then was in a plane crash,
was retired and now flies and builds remote control airplanes... We have
divided the house in half (kind of) for our hobbies... we have 4 bedrooms
(2 of which are real bedrooms) 1 is a guestroom/beanie hotel and the other
is a craft room with 7 airplanes, 2 helicopters, a R/C boat and all the
things to go with them plus my scroll saw for my beanie houses.. hehe but I
bet the propeller would look cool in our living room.. Billy wants to get a
HUGE boatwheel (steering wheel, not sure real name for them) to go at the
top of the cathedral ceiling in the living room...

neat thing most people wouldn't have or have never seen - a small "lamp"
that is built onto the wall and sticks out, like an old fashioned gas
lamp. Since it was so close to the wall it was tough to find a shade
for it but I found a neat metal framework/red glass bead shade for it,
just the right size. The other light in the room is a three way lamp on
an end table, so it can be on the dark side at night.
18. Is there anything else unique in the room? -- I have another odd
feature -- behind the TV cart there is an antique "gas light" mantle
still attached to the wall! (House is 300+ years old so does have odd
features). There's also a fireplace behind the desk (covered front, not
to be used).

I sometimes try to picture the room where the other Beanvillians are
when they're writing to ACBB. It makes everyone more real to me. I know
many of you hate LONG polls, but if you get a chance...please try to
answer. We've done this before and it really helps people get to know
each other better and when we know each other better we have a tendency
