I don't generally reply to these posts, but I want to thank you for a well
needed laugh.

I agree. A lot of these prices aren't even outdated, though. Has anyone ever
paid $20 for Kicks or Fortune, for example? And does the $7.50 shipping for
one Beanie include a free car wash?

Lois,

Some people are stuck in the 1960-70-80-90's and yet again some people are
stuck in this Beanie World were each and everyone is made of eternal gold.
Simple sad and simply dumb.... go on eBay some people are STILL paying
thousands for RARE beanies! I just laugh......why oh why do people think
these things are RARE or IMPORTANT anymore is beyond me.

It seems to me that Beanie collecting is the same as any other. People will
pay outrageous prices for most things they enjoy. I went to an auction of
Disney pins in September, and couldn't believe the amount of money that people
shelled out for a little pin. There were a few that I would have loved to
have, but opted for paying my mortgage with the same amount of money the people
who bought them spent.

Comparing a Disney product to a Ty product is pretty bad in terms of
collectibility...nothing against you but IMO I believe Disney is vastly more
collectible then anything Ty produced or produces....I would think so.....
but you are right people pay for what they like....but ideally they pay for
it...thinking they can recoup the money at some point.....which is bad with
Ty items.

Yeah, those Disney pins have a huge following. Ty tried to jump on that
bandwagon too with the BBOC pins. Obviously, it didn't go well.

I didn't really mean to compare Disney items with Beanies. I just meant that
people will pay exhorbitant prices for whatever the item is that they collect.

Thus is true,.... a true collector is smart and a collector who just
collects isnt.

Beanies are collectibles they are collected.
