Where can I get 8x10 pictures of characters from the Disney studios and
the Hanna Barbera studios?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Welcome in "The Big Quest" for animation pictures !
I don't know if I'm alone in that case, but it's not easy to find them.
There are two websites I found where you can buy those rare pictures :
www.allwall.com
www.autographworld.com
I started to collect Disney and other animation art a few month ago. Did you
have any success with animation before ?

Yep, that seems to be THE Big Quest. Perhaps we should, instead, be trying
to think of some alternatives to 8x10 photos. How about pages from
childrens books. They are inexpensive and it'd be kinda neat to have a
framed photo of a character signed, in a pivital scene, with some classic
line across the bottom of the page. The Mike "~^^~ the Batman" Brewer
suggests setting up a camera on a tripod at night and taking pictures of
your tv screen IF you have a decent pause. How about high end color copies
out of books? If you don't mind adding your own color, there's always
coloring book pages. Check the book/magazine section at your grocery
store. Some of the kids Disney magazines have pull out photos (I'm trying
to talk my daughter out of some of her different Disney princess posters).
Anyone else have any suggestions? Some of the same ideas can work for H-B
characters. Check the Warner Brothers store rather than Disney.

For the moment, the only alternative I found to 8x10 is 11x14 !
There are more pictures but they are expensive here in France. You cannot
find all the caracters but there is a good choice. Plus, you have a lot of
room to make the artists sign because of the size ! It's also expensive to
send it and get it returned. The picture selling rate is about $ 7 and it
costs me $ 4 more to send two 11x14 pictures to USA (1 week from France),
and the same to get it back. I'm also trying to get the french voices to
autograph my pictures and it is, of course, less expensive.
You really have to love it to do it ! I just sent some Disney 2 days ago...
hope they will sign them ! I'll keep you informed about my success on the
news group.

Disney books are a great idea... check out thrift stores for old Disney kid's
books. Also, you can send video jackets or DVD booklets. Also there have been
many trading cards made from Disney films... I know these aren't as big and
nice as 8x10s but it's better than nothing!
