8 tracker from hell
our brain dead resident charley nudo, but after what i saw the auction that
he posted regarding a rare item that he destroyed just to get the tube amp,
i had to point this out.
the item in question was a magnavox console stereo that was just a
phonograph only model that was made in the early sixties. what makes this
unit rare is during the years that this model was made, the majority of
them were equiped with am / fm tuners as well with some even with optional
mpx stereo, which were more common than the "phonograph only" models. in
fact, this was the first "phonograph only" model that i have seen.
these are the followup postings from the other participants of the
rec.antique.radio+phono newsgroup pointing out what a idiotic move he made
by doing that.

it intact, with it's own speakers, in the cabinet it was engineered for.

Why break up a half decent collectible? You can get a stereo SE tube
amp from almost anywhere, or just build one - it's not rocket science.

The little amp is a SEP (single ended pentode), and the excellent bass
response is coming from the application of negative feedback. You can
get scary bass out of most anything with correctly tuned and applied
NFB, but the openness, air, and finesse will unfortunately suffer as a
result.
The 6EU7 is basically a 6.3V only version of the 12AX7; the two are
electrically quite similar in all other respects. The 12AX7 or 6EU7
driven EL84/6BQ5 SEP amp was the most commonly used setup in
stand-alone phonographs, console stereos, and small integrated
single-component stereo systems in the '50s and early '60s. Yours is
one of probably millions that were made, and for good reason, they
sounded great at very low cost.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT- THE FOREIGN SCUMBAG'S TUBE KNOWLEDGE IS WORSE

My nomination is any Granco FM tuner or radio. As I remember
them, they were cheap, looked like junk, and wouldn't stay in
alignment for five minutes.
