My husband died on December 1, 2003. Tuesday he got a jury summons!

I am not about to waste my last stamp mailing back the form.

I tried calling ... busy!

I tried the online registration page. There's no place to tell them he's
dead and no email address.

So ... I tried calling again. Guess what! I got one of those blasted
robots! Press this ... press that. I did!

I finally got an option to say he was deceased, so I pressed that
number, and now they want a copy of the death certificate! Hah! I hung up.

They can whistle Dixie ... or come and arrest his ashes. It's their
stupid mistake! I'm sure the county still has a record of his death so
why should I have to furnish them with it?

Maybe this explains how so many dead voters manage to vote. [g]

I bet you *do* get a court summons for him. Charges of contempt of court or
some such. The good news is, since he's dead, and any summons will be
addressed to him, you can (probably) safely ignore it. (If they send a letter
or something, return it unopened with "RETURN TO SENDER: ADDRESSEE DECEASED"
written on it. See if that works.)

It makes you wonder what people are doing at their jobs, other than what
they're being paid for. When Andy was in intensive care, his nurse was
playing computer games.

The mail he gets does bother me. Companies know everything else about
you, however they get their info, so that part of it should also be
accessible.

They use the voter rolls here for jury selection. Check and see if he voted
in 2008? My neighbor has been getting new voter registration cards for her
daughter who moved out of state 8 years ago. She has sent back twice with
the new address but got a new one a month or so ago. No voter photo id
needed though.

Voters have to register here too. They sent a registration card for him
for a couple of years, but those stopped. I think I just trashed them. I
really don't remember.
