Composer John Everest has made available for download the Avatar
Album. Wonder what it sounds like.

The Avatar album is an orchestral suite which attempts to capture the
feelings which occurred when I took the Avatar course in personal
development (highly recommended). See: http://www.avatarepc.com/

Sounds like "spacey" 1970s synthesizer stuff. I listened to one track.
You can play them for free, you know. But you have to allow popups or
put the download link into a player.

Yeah, I got them to play alright.

Isn't it curious how all the anonymous posters always get 4-start
ratings? Almost like they rate each other.

It wouldn't be one poster logging in under different names just to
stuff feathers up his own ass by any chance, wouldn't it?

Weird......

Yeah, it does seem suspicious. For amusement, you might also want to
check out the customer reviews for Resurfacing at www.amazon.com/.

What a bunch of crap. I could sit down at my keyboard right now and
come up with better stuff out of the blue. And I'm so sick of the faux-
orchestra sounds that are everywhere now.

The best music I've found to describe/complement expanded states like
Avatar is Steve Roach's "Structures From Silence". That music is
sublime.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

I agree. When you put modern technology in the hands of some kids,
they just go overboard. Especially the ones who do special effects for
movies. Those effects used to be one helluva lot more judicious and
overall better when they had to make a dye transfer print of each
frame, retouch it with an airbrush, and then photograph it again. Or
paint major backdrops or do mattes or whatever.

Same goes for the graphic arts, typography and whatever. If it's too
easy to do, it will be overdone by amateur idiots. That is my maxim of
the day.

So where have you been, anyway?
