Now this is how things normally happen. This is after the cross. The man
believed, learned of the baptism a symbol of being buried with Christ and
risen with Him, so he asked Phillip what prevents me from baptism. Phillip
asked him, "If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he
answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. "

Quite obviously a prerequisite before baptism."

Sure, and never in doubt. Who else in whom to believe, buddha?

But it is in completing the process in baptism we are renewed and joined to
Christ unto eternal life.  This as Paul says in Romans.

Baptism in completing the process of being born from above is in no sense a
symbol.  Before it one is not renewed, only after as the Acts above
illustrates clearly.

Even the demons believe, no?  What prevents them?

I prefer the whole of scripture.
