You posted material about how an "overseer"
and a deacon should act, with some Scripture.
Definitely good stuff, of course. :)
You then went on to ask how many act that way
in real life, meaning compared to how we act
in these news groups. A good note, of course.
But let me now ask you a question:
How many "congregants" act in church, the way
that they do her in these news groups?
For some examples:
How many people in church Sundays, stand up and
shout and accuse the pastor of being Satan, because
he says something they don't personally agree with?
How many people in church Sundays, stand up and
shout and start cursing at the pastor and using foul
language (while saying he shouldn't do that), because
he doesn't believe that active homosexuals should be
able to get married, or be preachers, etc.?
How many people in church Sundays, stand up and
shout and accuse the pastor of being a rapist, simply
because he quoted what Paul said about a husband
and wife, Matt?
So yes, I agree with you post. I do. But let's not act like
it's somehow all one sided here, when we both know that
it's not. And I'm sure you'll want to respond by telling me
that I have the greater responsibility and that would b
true, except:
1) That does not alleviate anyone else's responsibility.
2) I am constantly told that this is not my flock and so,
I don't have that responsibility here, according to
the people who spoke those words, which includes
you as well.
3) I am told that I am "not a real pastor"; "a fake"
and so, it is hypocritical for anyone to try to hold
me to any such standard, since they can't have it
both ways. But of course, these people are indeed
hypocrites and tell me that I'm a fake out of one
side of their mouth and out of the other, telling
me that as a pastor, I shouldn't do this or that.
So I thank you for the message/reminder and I hope
you and others feel the same way about this reminder.

One small point: ACC is not a service so what is said here is more
akin to what is said in Church between services. It's like talking
over coffee or tea. It's about what is said in the hallway. In ACC
we do not disrupt a service but other than that your question is spot
on. How do people gossip over coffee between services?

Or how many whisper it in the hallway over tea?

Very few I imagine. But rumors in the background? I'm sure all large
churches have that problem.

Actually since this isn't your flock I don't see how you would have
more responsibility here and anybody else. If you have a flock then
you would have more responsibility with them. But here you are one of
the regulars and are on par with the other regulars - an equal with
equal responsibility.
> 2) I am constantly told that this is not my flock and so,

You have the same responsibility that all people have. That would be
the "does not alleviate anyone else's" you mention in point 1. You
are one of us - no more and certainly no less.

I'm not sure how that would be hypocrisy. We would have to define
"real pastor". I'm not sure that is important. Perhaps those who put
much stock in the idea of a pastor would think it's important.
> But of course, these people are indeed

That wouldn't mean hypocrisy if they are trying to point to a standard
for "real pastor". Of course I would have to see the actual argument
to know. I can't generalize.

The standard is for those that consider themselves a authority or
teacher.
I do find some ministers to be wrong Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson and
Fred Phelps. They are not satan just disgusting.
Now if a pastor ever started condemning and pointing the finger of
doom for the reasons some do here. I am likely to stand up and tell
him my thoughts. Then get him removed as the pastor.
Have helped to have a hate filled teacher at a Christian school fired
and did my best to make sure he never taught again.
I do understand what you are saying.

I was at a Baptist church on a Sun Morn years ago, he started preaching
against the Book of Revelations to his flock. I got up, said what the book
said about messing with it and left 10 minutes into the sermon.
I would do the same thing in your church if you had one in Florida, but
only if you were mainstream. The only Preterists I am aware of are in
prisons, or exprisoners. How you got yours I haven't a clue.

I have regularly seen both in exactly the same type of charismatic churches
that Peter B attends.
ROTFL, I have stated numerous times that it has been years since I have
been in a church, and to you as well. But heh, nice try.
But I will be going soon, it is my intention doesn't even have to be
charismatic either. Just has to be 100% bible doctrine and led of the real
Lord.

boss them or shun them as "not true Christians."

BINGO!
The same applies to Seeker.

It is VERY important for those who erroneously think that have a ministry to
boss other people.

I find Usenet to be EXACTLY like church - sharing of ignorance, belief in
Christian urban myth, backstabbing, gossip, fighting, factional groups, etc.
It is a perfect advertisement for the type of heaven each ratbag envisages.
I have read the advertisements through the posts on ACC. I'm not in the
least bit interested in sharing eternity with a vast number of people here.
Their heaven sounds more like hell.

BINGO!~
This is EXACTLY what uneducated fools like Peter B do in churches!!!!!!
They wrongly think that they know more than a minister who has attended
theological college and university.
They are self opinionated fools of the same calibre as Peter B who shun all
tertiary education.

YOU! An uneducated fool.
Do punctuate a plural with an apostrophe of possession again.
Do use the intransitive verb "snipe" as a transitive verb again.
Do tell us how you suddenly gained more knowledge than educated folk because
you speak in tongues gibberish.
Do give us more mirth to laugh at.
Thank you for proving that I am not stalking you. Responding in a

their own free will cannot be stalking.

The standard you posted. My point is that it is hypocrisy
for people to expect something from one group, while
acting anti-Christian themselves, just as it is hypocrisy
to claim I am a pastor for the purpose of demanding
that I meet this standard here in this group and then
that I'm not a pastor when it comes to them wanting
to denigrate me and it is also hypocrisy demand such
standards from me and then shout at me about how
I am not the pastor of this group.
Basically, it is just hypocrisy through and through
and it comes from the same people claiming what
they claim about how those in positions of authority
should act.
And one more thing... It is hypocrisy to claim this
about people "in positions of authority" and then
shout and yell and curse at that same person,
telling them that they have no authority here.
> I do find some ministers to be wrong. Benny Hinn,
> Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps. They are not Satan
> just disgusting.
Which has nothing to do with the point I made.
I find lots of preachers have problems. But that
has nothing to do with whether or not it is okay
for the people in the crowd to act the way that
people do in these groups toward a pastor.
> Now if a pastor ever started condemning and pointing

Well, you claim you would do that, however;
1) That s not the same thing as what's being
discussed here.
2) Sometimes people need to hear doom
and it isn't up to you to demand that
they ignore those parts of the Bible.
> Have helped to have a hate filled teacher at

I won't comment, because I don't know what
you consider "hate filled" and I would not be
hearing both sides of it anyway.

Then with all due respect, don't you think that's
what your response should have reflected? :)

Well, you claim that he did such a thing. I have
the feeling that what he actually preached against,
was your personal doctrine regarding Revelation.
And btw, it's not "Revelations". It's "Revelation".

Isn't that an interesting comment, given that you said

It is not acceptable for ANYONE to act against another person the way some
of these people on ACC act towards others. I note that Peter B would stand
up and abuse you while you gave a sermon if you stated something that he
disagreed with. I have heard thousands of sermons and many that I disagreed
with. One listens and discerns, taking the good and spitting out the bad as
with any idea that confronts oneself.
Police are currently taking action against the several cyber stalkers of our
State Premiere -
http://www2.skynews.com.au/topstories/article.aspx?id=562011&vId=
My cyber stalkers should take note.
Pastors who frequent ACC have a problem. Pastors are used to ONE WAY
communication in a sermon. The sermon is given to the congregation and no
discussion is allowed.
However, a newsgroup is all about DISCUSSION. Some posters on ACC have no
idea what discussion entails. Discussion assumes a difference of thought
and the right to have a different opinion and voice it. Some posters demand
that you agree 100% the same with all their beliefs otherwise they think
that you deserve to be stalked and trolled.
This is happening to you. It has also happened to other pastors such as Dr
Rowland Croucher. That is why he has left and now posts on Facebook where I
enjoy his discussions which are far more civilised than the daily brawls on
ACC.
I note that, as usual, the stalkers and trolls do not discuss your ideas but
attack your person. Stalkers and trolls are usually less educated that
those they stalk and troll. They are afraid of your ideas. That does not
mean that you should not voice your ideas.
How you deal with your stalkers and trolls is a personal decision. There
are many options and no-one can tell you the one and only way.

Yep! I keep saying the same thing. Peter B is an uneducated fool. You know
far more about the bible than he does. Fundamentalist types like Peter b
shun all educated people as they look foolish discussing things with people
who know what they are talking about. The same thing has been stated by
biblical scholars ....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
from James Barr "Fundamentalism" (SCM Press:1977)
The most pronounced characteristics [of fundamentalists] are the following:
...
(c) an assurance that those who do not share their religious viewpoint are
not really 'true Christians' at all. p.1
It is not uncommon that people who are deeply convinced of the
infallibility, centrality and inerrancy of the Bible have a poor knowledge
of it and indeed have hardly even read it. p.38
The real and fatal cost of fundamentalist doctrine and ideology, as a system
of life, is not its inner logical inconsistency, but rather its personal
cost: it can be sustained as a viable way of life only at the cost of
unchurching and rejecting, as persons, a thinkers or scholars, as
Christians, all those who question the validity of the conservative option.
The presence of the questioner breaks down the unnatural symbiosis of
conflicting elements which makes up the total ideology of fundamentalists.
We can thus understand why 'liberals' and other non-conservative persons
have not only to be disbelieved, discredited and overcome in argument; they
have, still more, to be eliminated from the scene altogether. The
fundamentalist policy is to not listen to the non-conservative arguments and
then reject them: it is that the non-conservative argument should not be
heard at all. Fundamentalism as an ideological option is profoundly
threatened by the presence of people who do not believe in it, who do not
share it, who question it. pp. 314-315
Accordingly, where it comes about that fundamentalists have the power, it
must be expected that they will use that power to silence those of contrary
opinion. They will seek to eliminate from structures of church and
education persons who are not sufficiently conservative. The history of
fundamentalism shows this clearly. Like other conservative movements, it has
sought not merely the means to witness, to state its own position, but
control, the power to silence or to remove from positions of responsibility
any persons who did not conform. p. 316
I was talking about saying people are not saved for the stupid and
small amounts of information they have here. Most Pastors know the
people better than that. Well of the smaller churches I like.
Well I think you are a true Pastor you were back in the Datarat days
and he really did not like you. He was a desk police officer so could
have easily checked.
I also have to admit except a few times I ignore those post about REV.
as it doesn't interest me at this time. That will require a great
deal of studying. Now that Baby has passed I have more time.
What is done to you is wrong and at times what you do is wrong. It is
the same with me.
What I will say that to me your actions on these NGs are not required
to fit these scriptures because here, you are not a person of
authority or a teacher to students. You are a equal even if more
knowledgable than some. We are all here to debate our views and some
just to watch the debates and learn.
I will say this another poster said that what was needed on these NGs
I have seen one good thing of late. Your spammed less by the spammer.
I'm not good with words so hope this makes better sense.
Amen! But while the thoughts and rumors may be just
as sinful, it is the acting out that makes things so disruptive.
That was my point, in relation to the hypocrisy of them
telling me that I am not their pastor here, but then
demanding that I act like a pastor would act toward
his flock.
In one sense yes, in another no. :)
The idea of a pastor should have stock put in it,
since it is Biblical and Timothy, for example, was
given authority to go into churches and straighten
even the Bishops out. :)
As for what a "real pastor" is, the only thing that
matters, is what the Bible says and people have
some very wrong ideas about how one becomes
a pastor.
Here are the Biblical requirements:
1) A calling by God.
2) This calling being recognized by others.
No, that does not mean every single person,
nor does it mean, "by usenet hypocrites". :)
3) The laying on of hands by others called by Him.
That's it!
Here's what people think are the requirements:
1) Christian college graduate with a diploma
that says, "Pastor" on it.
2) Hired by a church that teaches what they heard
last Sunday.
3) Agreement with what they think Christianity means.
4) A pastor must preach at a huge, established church.
Here is what is wrong with that:
1) There is no such thing as a college course that
graduates one as a pastor. One graduates from
a Christian college and has taken courses in the
various subjects, such as theology, or counseling,
or even church finances, etc..
2) One is not hired by a church as a pastor fresh
out of college, since they aren't a pastor yet.
It is the church that ordains a pastor, not a
college and that may not happen right away
and maybe not ever. Nor is it required to be
hired by a church at all. A man may be seen
to be called by God to go out into the world
and preach and may be ordained by a church
and then sponsored by them financially to go
out and preach. This does not mean that they
work for that church and another thing that
people get confused about with this whole
"working for a church" thing, is that if that
was required, it would mean that once they
left that church, their being a pastor would
be no more.
3) A pastor may or may not agree with mainstream
Christianity. There are lots of different teachings
out there.
4) This is a ridiculous claim! :) The truth is, that
people here don't want to admit to, because
it would be one less thing for them to attack
me over and lie about, again, the truth is that
aside from Catholic churches, almost every
single church you see as you drive down
the road, started out as a home church and
simply expanded from there. So for people
to make fun of a pastor who preaches at a
home church, only shows their hatred for
him, not their "loving Christian wisdom"! (:
>> But of course, these people are indeed
>> hypocrites and tell me that I'm a fake out of one
>> side of their mouth and out of the other, telling
>> me that as a pastor, I shouldn't do this or that.
>
> That wouldn't mean hypocrisy if they are trying
> to point to a standard for "real pastor". Of course
> I would have to see the actual argument to know.
> I can't generalize.
Read what I wrote, please. They tell ME that *I*
am a fake (not a real pastor and of course, this is
when I say something that disagrees with their
own personal doctrines) and *also* tell ME that
*I* shouldn't be doing such and such that I did.
Therefore, they are with one breath calling me
"not a real pastor" and then with another breath,
saying that I am, by saying that *I* shouldn't
have done such and such thing, *because*
that's not how "a pastor" acts. That is hypocrisy!
>> So I thank you for the message/reminder and I hope
Hahaha!!! Yes, agreed. :)
I think it was directed toward me. Maybe others as well.
But as I said, the message is a correct one, as it is straight
from Scripture and I was not arguing against the message.
I agreed with the message and then went on to note the
hypocrisy of those who would get on the case of those
in positions of authority and then say and do the things
that I noted.
Hahaha! Yes, true enough an for all we know,
he probably did just that! <lol>
But I wasn't fishing for a statement like this from you.
I was just noting that your response did not seem to
note that what was under discussion here, was the
issue of their hypocrisy, which does not take away
from the value of your message that you posted.
Well, you are right, but I would also say that
I should represent a better place in the heart.
You see Matt, I don't wish this to sound like ego
or anything, but I feel that I have to say that the
key difference here, is that unlike them, I don't
try to defend my unkind words to others. I do
admit to them, when someone says to me that
what I said was not kind and if you notice here,
you are kindly trying to let me off the hook and
I am the one who keeps hanging myself back
on it. Again, I'm not saying that from ego,
nor from a desire to pat myself on the back.
I'm just saying that I'm not the one who wants
this stuff to keep going.
As for teaching others, I believe that it is my role
regardless of where I am. For example, a cop
doesn't stop being a cop, just because he's not
in his cop car, or just because he's not in his
uniform, amen? :)
I can take the collar off, but that doesn't make
the calling leave me. :)
Darn Holy Spirit! Just won't leave me alone!
Hahaha! <lol!>
I don't have a problem with that. And not that it excuses
anything I may do, but if you read an entire thread, you
will find that my <ahem> "comments" are made to them
*in* *response* to their vicious attacks and they just
cannot seem to have a reasonable discussion. I mean,
if it's all me starting all of this, then why do I have so
many who chase me from group to group and from
thread to thread, FOR YEARS after I have kill filed them,
doing NOTHING but ATTACKING me and telling outright
lies about me and what I have said?
His answer was: "A republic, if you can keep it."
Sorry if you thought so, but it wasn't. It was about our new sinless
It was for MC or as I think Michael the Prat.
Truthfully did not even think of you when posted
That may be true, but that wasn't what he was teaching. No one should
teach kids to hate and kill. Not my kids at least.
Okay, I'll accept that. :) But as I said, it was a good
message and I was not upset with you about it. :)
Michael did say that he believe himself to be perfect.
And yes, he did agree that he says that he is "perfect".
Well, I think you're being emotional about it here
and that's what's speaking, since I highly doubt
that he said to the kids;
"If you see a homosexual, then you kill them!"
Like I said...
And MC is a hypocrite, flat out, since he clams that
preachers are an evil thing and yet, he preaches.
And then when I point that simple fact out to him,
he starts attacking me.
I will make a suggestion. And that suggestion is that
it seems so confusing, because Futurists try to make
it something that you have to be ingrained in their
doctrine to understand. But when you strip that off
and just read it with the understanding of the times
and the people and the OT, it all falls right into place
and it's not at all hard to understand! Not at all!!!
In fact, it becomes a fairly easy read. :)
I understand and I'm sorry to hear about that.
I wasn't saying "cool" that you lost your dog.
Just that you are recovering, which I can tell,
because you're talking about having more time
to study Revelation, which is also cool.
Well that was the truth, but as time went on I vaguely recalled that
something like preterism was hitting some prisons as a form of a religion
but grossly distorted. It somehow excused criminal thinking. Don't ask me
how, it is not something I followed as it was like the KKK in psuedo
Where was the personal attack here you big baby?
I also don't remember acting like a wounded lamb, it is not my style, I
also haven't claimed to be innocent. Just forgiven.
Peter, you're making crap up as you go! You don't remember
any such thing and we both know it and you're only revealing
your own fear to the world!
You're afraid that you won't be able to resist the truth and so,
you try to bury it in your invented lies. But it won't work and
quite frankly, someone who is that scared would be smarter
to stay away than to constantly play with fire. :)
Especially someone who doesn't even know the name of
the book in the Bible that he claims to teach people about!
>> But thanks for once again posting an attack on me.
>
Where was the attack? Bawahahaha!!! That's funny! :)
This is why people don't think of you as being very bright!
You quote your own attacks on people and add more into
the same message in which you then deny attacking them!
Hello?!? McFly?!? :)
Let's see what you have said here about a belief system that
you like to label me under and by doing so, are implying says
something about me and are taken from this same message:
QUOTES OF PETER'S WORDS:
******************************************************************************************
"The only Preterists I am aware of are in prisons,
or exprisoners. How you got yours I haven't a clue."
"...as time went on I vaguely recalled that something
like preterism was hitting some prisons as a form of
a religion but grossly distorted."
"It [Preterism] somehow excused criminal thinking."
"...it is not something I followed as it was like the KKK
in psuedo religions."
******************************************************************************************
You made these things up out of thin air. There never
has been any such thing as what you claim. And if you
are dumb enough to keep claiming these things (as we
both know you are), then it is up to you to prove your
own claims (which you won't do, being a dishonest liar).
You know that you posted attacks on Preterism and so,
by extension, on me, because you label me as a Preterist
and the only one here, so you should really quit acting
like a moron by trying to deny it. You don't look smart.
You look ridiculous. Especially when you do it in one
part of a message and then try to deny it just a couple
of paragraphs down in the same message. And you
really insult the intelligence of the readers here, when
you think that they are dumb enough to buy into this.
Let me ask you... Do you actually act this way in real life?
I mean, do you actually stand there in front of somebody
and insult them and then a couple of sentences later,
tell them that you didn't insult them and then tell them
that they're the ones lying, when they say that you did?
I ask, because what you do here, if it were translated to
a face to face situation, would be like you standing there
and insulting someone while they record you doing it and
then, just a few sentences later, you try to convince them
that you didn't insult them and that they were the ones
who insulted you. So then they play the tape back for
you and prove that you did insult them and instead of
you even having enough common sense to walk away
with your head hung low in shame, you prove that you
obviously have no shame and so, instead, you stand there
and keep trying to convince them over and over again,
that somehow, your words magically mean the opposite
of the tape they keep playing for you proves that you said.
Now where the real stupidity (yours) factor comes in, is that
you knew ahead of time that they were recording you Peter
(just as you know your words are recorded here, before you
even post them), but yet, you still decided to stand there
and attack them anyway, even knowing this!
Now how much brain power is involved in that kind of move?
You're lying again, but that's par for the course with you.
You are constantly pretending to be offended by the comments
of others, when you're the one who is attacking them.
No matter how many times that you try to deny it Peter,
it won't change the fact that you're a liar, plain and simple!
You really are too stupid to talk to!
YOU put the "s" on the end of the name "Revelation",
so that when YOU typed it, it said "Revelations"!
If you saw me face to face you would understand how ridiculous your comment
is.
"pastor dave", without a pastorate and he wonders why.
I am not the one that thought that after 70 AD that 1000 years really meant
2000+ years.
If I posted comments on all your spelling errors it would get boring real
fast. You use mine to deflect from your other errors. Like putting words
into verses that weren't there, and so on.
Not that you will understand but the book was about revelations.
It wasn't a spelling error. We both know that.
No it wasn't and your attempt to cover your ignorance
didn't work! It was about THE Revelation (singular)
of Jesus Christ to John, just as it says it was in the
very first verse in the book, you idiot!
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him
to show His servants; things which must shortly take
place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to
His servant John..." - Revelation 1:1
Now, you were saying, idiot???
You really need to stop thinking that you lame attempts
to weasel out of looking like the idiot that you are, work!
YOU have spelling errors and not typos.
YOU have dyslexia and cannot correctly read text.
It is obvious that you think that a pastor should lie.
Thank you for proving my point about you.
Not to worry, you are just as nit picking as another here. He doesn't have
any original thoughts either, and you both ignore your significant errors,
I just don't harp on them, although I could, but neither one is worth the
time.
You can buy books for self help, but for your self worth problems you are
out of luck. Sorry
It isn't nit picking to note that a person who claims to
be capable of teaching everyone else and who insults
and attacks everyone who won't kneel before him,
doesn't even know what the name of a book of the
Bible is called!
And then you tried to weasel your way out of it,
claiming it was a spelling error on your part.
And then when that doesn't work, you once again
tried to lie about your error and again insulted me,
claiming that you meant to call it that, because it
is about revelations (plural).
The truth is, it was not a spelling error, or you wouldn't
have tried to change your story on the fly.
The truth is, you changing your story on the fly proves
that you knew you were lying when you claimed it was
a spelling error on your part!
Furthermore, you still don't seem to get the concept of
your words being quoted, which means that people see
that you just did that! Nope! Not you! You're so dumb
that you try to change your story in the same message
that you're quoting yourself trying to claim it's a typo!
So then you go on to try to claim that you put an "s"
on the end, because it was about "revelations" (plural).
But if you knew anything about the book, then you
would have known that the very first verse in the book
says that it's not! Yet you claim to be able to teach me!
You also insulted me in the same paragraph, saying that
I wouldn't understand, as if I'm too stupid, or ignorant,
or both, to get it, or just don't know that it says that it's
about multiple "revelations"!
Yet, somehow, beyond our explanation, you will still have
no clue just how stupid you look trying to defend yourself
and insulting me on top of it in the process, when you're
the one making all the errors and then trying to cover
them up with lies and insults!
And the really sad part is, that even if you did get this,
you would still be so dumb, that you would attack me
again anyway! <chuckle>
Peter also has problems with plurals and adds the apostrophe of possession
to them.
He is such a funny little fellow even though he has not finished high
school!
Stay tuned for more of his antics.
