You are really something else, Ben. When Tim had to leave the newsgroup and
then decided to return, you made a big issue out of what a lying hypocrite he
must be. Yet when you do the same thing, you insist that it is the Holy Spirit
calling you. Just want you to realize that you are opening yourself to the
same criticisms that you have so blithely heaped upon others in the past.

However, let's put that aside and kill a fatted calf for you as well. Welcome
back.

The other guy was Dick Armey. And I think it is about time some of
the politicians make a stand. I think the news reporting is amusing.
It was if Trent and Dick had said the earth was flat and there is a big
turtle holding the whole thing up. The news gangs really are walking in
darkness, knowing not what they stumble over.

I'm just waiting for the work He does TO you when you croak...NOT
giving you a big house and piles of money and a hot-bodied sex-crazed wife.
Then we can watch you throw a temper tantrum like the pre-schooler you are
in every way except physically, in the vain hope that a mommy will come
along and take you into her kitchen. You never fail to make me think even
less of you...almost as little as you think of yourself--you just bleat
"God loves me--Jesus loves me--faggots DIE" constantly in a pathetic
attempt to build yourself up. If YOU'RE the pinnacle of what God can do,
I'm suprised you don't cause a stampede to the nearest coven every time you
go someplace. Here's hoping you have an accident or debiliating disease so
you can be a sickbed cheerleader for the wonderfullness of the Lord--'Look
at how He's blessed me!"

Hey Paul...come on...don't hold back! Tell us what you really think!

I am still praying for you Paul...satan has hurt you bad and you blame
God and are mad at Him and are holding a grudge...let it go and come to
Jesus...and rest in His peace and perfection...amen!

I have just reviewed the Trent Lott story on www.cnn.com. The
"250,000 member" Human Rights Campaign talked about him being
guilty of backward thinking. I like the term "Classical Thought".
And I can't think of something that would be much more backward
thinking than returning to Sodom, or even the preflood era. Can't
go back much farther. And I can't understand why a 250,000 member
organization is such a big deal when millions of Christians are
hotly opposed to homosexuality.

From the CNN story:

Asked about Lott's comments, House Majority Leader Dick
Armey, R-Texas, said today the Bible considers
homosexuality a
sin.

"My faith is very important to me. ... I do not quarrel
with
the Bible on this subject," he said.

Isn't it nice to see a politician say things in very simple
terms? I'm in the DC area, and not accustomed to them saying
things that sound so clear.

What Trent Lott actually said to Armstrong Williams, according to
CNN:

During their interview Monday, Williams asked Lott whether
he
considers homosexuality a sin and Lott replied, "Yeah, it
is."

Lott added: "You should still love that person. You should
not try
to mistreat them or treat them as outcasts. You should try
to show
them a way to deal with that problem, just like alcohol ...
or sex
addiction ... or kleptomaniacs.

"There are all kinds of problems, addictions, difficulties,
experiences of things that are wrong, but you should try to
work
with that person to learn to control that problem," he
said.

Sounds almost like he has been reading what we have been saying
here. I wonder if Trent and Dick have been lurking in the NG's.

And what did the White House have to say?

The White House also chided Lott. "The fact that the
majority
leader has such views, apparently -- consistent with some
who are
fairly extreme in his party -- is an indicator of how
difficult
it is to do rational work in Washington," White House press
secretary Mike McCurry said. He said Lott showed he is
among
people who are "so backward in their thinking."

Personally, I don't think that the Word of God should ever be
considered "backward thought". Even if only taken as literature,
it is an all-time classic that clearly shows the place of mankind
in the world, how sin causes his destruction, how turning from
that sin can change a person, and how a man can make a difference
in the world.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

And, by the way, you are 100% on target with Reggie White. We
could use a whole bunch more athletes like him, Charles Mann, and
Art Monk. It will be nice to see what the new crop of outspoken
Christian athletes looks like now that Charles and Art are out of
playing, and Reggie is on the fence of retirement. Or maybe I
just haven't been hearing enough press on them.

By the way, I want to put a plug in for Promise Keepers. The
conference in Philadelphia is coming up on July 10-11. I know
there are many others all around. I'd love to see one of these
outstanding men at an event like that.
